Hey, I've got a Raptor 660 with stage 3 Hot Cams and a few other mods, I've had the radiator flushed, a new radiator cap and within 10 minutes of riding it has pushed all the water out of the radiator into the expansion tank. When it is idling it doesn't over flow. I have pulled the hose off the top of the water pump and started it up and water flows out so I am after help in determining what the issue might be. Any help or info would be great.

Could be a couple of things it may have a blocked radiator or a stuck thermostat causing no water flow through the engine. Or could be a blown head gasket, pressurising the cooling system and pumping it out of the radiator pm or give me a call maybe able to help out with more info if needed

pulled thermo out, put a switch on the fan and it seems to solved it a bit. If it was a head gasket, would it start blowing it out straight away? It only blows it out when it gets warmer (85 degrees on the temp gauge).

A lot of stranger things have happened. To satisy your own curiosity, do a compression test cold and another hot. Any big discrepancies can get you thinking about gaskets, head tensions and more.
I spent 14 grand on a truck motor and a few months later I had similar questions to you. Compression testing a deisil is not easy....The fix was a simple complete re-tension of the head. A suspect thermostat was replaced with a new one.
The burnt fingers may be worth it. Wink

Not sure if it is relevant as mine is standard but living in hot Kalgoorlie had a problem with mine mine getting hot and tried normal fan issues. There has been lots of comments about 660's getting hot, especially in the ag version.
We moved to North QLD and the local guy had seen it before so a couple of hundred dollars later had changed out a some internal sensor behind the cluctch cover - $45 part but $150 labour. Ran sweet ever since.
Not sure if it helps as yours has beeen modded.

buddy i had this problem and found i was not getting enough air running through the radiatior, i fixed this by allowing more air through the grill.
next i changed the cap.
next i hooked up a switch for the thermal fan so i can turn it on when i want.\
it5 pretty much is on all the time when i ride.
next thermostat and housing.
next water pump.( is yours leaking water out of a hole at the bottom of the water pump, if so the seal maybe gone, its there to stop water going into the oil.
after all this i have a bike that never gets hot also another thing make sure you have the right coolant. this helps.

I've got a new radiator coming, its an oversize. Its not leaking anywhere at the moment when I have the fan on, pump doesn't leak so so far looking good. Hitting the sand dunes this weekend to give her a test.
