Hi great forum you all have here.
I have a Suzuki king quad 300 Blue.
it has 4 screws on the diaphragm cover in the carby. I am told that is how they tell what model it is ??
Anyway it takes ages of cranking over to get it started the throttle has to be pressed fully .
5 minutes+ at times.
When it is running it will idle smooth and runs well. if i turn it of it will kick over first go no throttle at all. Wait 1 minute and it will take a little bit with full throttle wait five minutes + and it takes ages again.
EDIT[ i forgot to mention that if I take the diaphragm out it will start with in 10 to 30 seconds. Start to slide it back in and it will stall. ]
I have replaced the needle and main jet the needle fits into. There are no holes in the diaphragm.
Any suggestions?
i am really getting frustrated. i could take it into the workshop but do not have the $$$ to do so.
Thanks. |

"later years of life..........."
I know what you mean. I stopped last night. Had a bit of trouble getting going this morning. Tried to sit up and collapsed. Tried again and same thing.

Toolworx, I've thought about this a bit. Uhmm, lets just say of had some machinery that I've spent a long time tring to forget. Very .
Your carby/fuel system may be sucking air where it should be sucking juice. The problem , of course is where. Using a spray bottle around the suspect areas while it's running can help. The engine note will change pretty well when water gets sucked into the leak. Throttle shaft and any throttle body joints are always worth a look.
As are head gaskets. Do a compression test or two. One cold and another hot.
It may also be a crook CDI. Or plug lead. So check them as well. Look for electrical flashes in the dark.
Another easy look is the air cleaner. Try starting it with and without it.

Things all wear gradually, and sometimes a combination of little things conspire against you. Good Luck with it. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

You could try changing the pilot jet one size up, fixed my cold start problems. _________________ The term "Foolproof" seriously underestimates the ingenuity of Fools.
