Just purchased a 08 Polaris 525s new, yes I already know its a 4 stroke, the problem im having is I cant get the ride height low enough without the rear shock nearly on the bump stop(linkless rear) and the front springs flopping around. I want to ride enduros and flattrack. Are the 450 shocks shorter than the 525? any advice would be nice, Thanks Clarkie _________________ Has turned to the Dark Side! |

If you put shorter shocks in you seriously have to worry about where the new shocks bottom out.
ie. smashed battery boxes, air boxs, chains cutting in to brake master cylinders and wiring etc.
Even A-arm ball joint angles going passed their working limits and popping.
Having said that, most of the time you'll probably get away with a physically sorter shock.
Talk to Adam from QuadSquad about shortening your standard shocks (which retains the manufacturers bottoming limit).
Adam has a lot of experience with Speedway and Flat track shock set-up.
If he has the internal parts, sometimes it only takes him a few minutes more than a normal shock service. _________________ Can-Am X Team

Sorry Bullet, should have said only want to lower it for flattrack, measured a KTM 450 2 wheeler shock today, 2 inches shorter than the Polaris Fox, will see if it fits tomorrow, will make secondary shock mounts for the front to drop it 2 inches aswell. _________________ Has turned to the Dark Side! |
