Hi guys, hope someone can help me with a quick question.
Recently bought a handbake blockoff plate & new clutch perch for my 05 Honda 400ex. Fitted the block off plate & turned my attention to the business end to remove the clutch lever/perch. However upon closer inspection I found two wires from the wiring harness connect to a switch of some kind bolted to the underside of the clutch perch, can anyone tell me what this switch is, what it does & can I do without it ?
Thanks in advance.

| havent had anything to do with 400ex,but if you have it in gear will it try and turn over and start?or will it only turn over and start when you pull the clutch in?if the later you could just bridge the 2 wires 2gether |

Yeah thanks mate, never occurred to me before, I guess I never tried starting in gear without the clutch in. I just tried it now & theres no cranking without the clutch pulled in, strange that it will in neutral though, there must be another sensor that identifies when it's in gear.
So you reckon just connect the wires to each other then & tape them off ?
It would be just a pass through switch, not a positive & negative wire ?
Thanks for your help. _________________ The term "Foolproof" seriously underestimates the ingenuity of Fools.

Priesty, there is a neautral sensor on the side of the gearbox so that it knows when its not in gear. the wires for the switch aren't polarised (just sensor wires that tell open or closed circuit) _________________
