New legislation being introduced by Brumby's lacky (Simon Madden) will impose a $95,000 per hectare sales tax on any property owner selling acreage inside the newly expanded "Urban Growth Boundary". A cynical attempt by the property developers to have the seller rather than them fund the infrastructure for new subdivisions & housing developements.
This unfair tax will have disastrous ramifications for anyone wishing to sell or bequeth a family property inside the boundary as there are few if any exemptions from the tax. The double whammy is that the resultant rise in property values will increase average rates as much as tenfold forcing some less prosperous people to abandon thier properties.

I really can't stand these idiots........they cost us so much but seem to acheive nothing.
They are great politicians but thats where their skill lies, as politicians not do'ers. They never deliver. |
