JUST HOW MANY PEOPLE WITH ANY INTRESTS IN QUADS ARE THERE WITHIN APOXIMATELY 4 HRS OF CAIRNS? {4WD,HUNTING ,CAMPING,FISHING,RACING,EXTENDED TRIPS,GENERAL RIDING.I THINK BECAUSE OF THE NUMBER OF GOOD LONG ENDURO TRACKS AND OTHER COUNTRY AND RIDING AVAILABLE. NO ONE HAS REALLY TRIED TO GET NUMBERS TOGETHER TO ORGANIZE PERMISABLE RIDING.LOTS HAVE TRIED TO ORGANIZE MX.I THINK THE MAJORITY OF QUAD RIDERS WANT VARIED RIDES AND SOCIALS LIKE THE DSMRA DOES.PLEASE ADD YOUR 2 BITS WORTH.I WANT TO KNOW HOW MANY OZ ATVERS IN FNQ.

my name is ken i ride a predator 500,my wife wendy rides kfx 400 we ride a round the cairns area aprox once a month we often ride with about a half dozen riders {not always the same group} we mix the rides up a bit with no set plans.hispeed,exploration,sightseeing,riverbeds,hill climbs,jumps ,4wding,usualy all in the one ride.we generally have slow and fast riders in a group,there is normally 2 or 3 girls in the group.it would be rare to use more than a tank of fuel in the quads.

BACK OF CAIRNS OUR SWEEP RIDER HAD LARGE QUAD ROLL ON HIM,BACK AND ABDOMINAL PAINS,HE WAS NOT GOING TO BE MOVED.WE MANAGED TO USE A UNREGISTERED SAT PHONE TO CALL 000,A GPS,A HAND HELD UHF,TIN OF BLUE PAINT AND SOME SPOTERS TO GIVE DIRECTIONS,TO SOME CRAZY AMBULANCE DRIVERS ONE CHAP TOOK AN OFFER 2 BE DOUBLED WHEN WE TOLD THEM THERE PATROL BODY 4WD PROBALLY WOULD NOT MAKE IT.THEY WERE VERY PROFFESIONAL.{MAKES ME MORE COMFORTABLE KNOWING THESE GUYS ARE IN OUR AREA} THEY GOT THAT 4T 4WD TO THE PAITENT AND NOT LONG AFTER MAYBE 20 MINS THE SES CHOPPER HAD LOWERED DOCTORS ECT.30 MINS LATER HE WAS WINCHED ABOARD AND TAKEN TO CAIRNS WHERE HE WAS FOUND TO BE CLEAR OF NASTIES LIKE ABDOMINAL BLEEDING AND SPINAL DAMAGE.IT SEEMS TORN MUSCELLS,BROKEN RIB,AND DEEP BRUISING WAS INJURY.WE WERE COMPLIMENTED BY THE PARAMEDICS FOR NOT MOVING HIM AND HANDLING THE SITUATION WELL. THESE ARE GOOD REASONS TO ORGANISE TRAIL RIDING CLUBS {WITH LEGAL PLACES TO RIDE} SO SAFTEY EQUIPMENT AND PLANS CAN BE IMPLEMENTED AND PURCHASED AND THIS EQUIPMENT CAN BE TRANSPORTED ON THE RIDE. THINK ABOUT WHAT AND HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU NEED TO FACILATATE EMERGENCY HELP IN THE AREA YOU RIDE!!!!.

i live in cairns and interested in MX and enduro (plus camps)
i know of a few pepl that ride in a swapy area then ride 2 ross and locke to wash da quds and play in da mud (lol)
im currently on holday in morocco and typing on a french keyboard with a computr that is set to arabic

Hi,
I'm approx 3.5 hours away in Townsville, I like long relaxing walks on the beach .....NOT Seriously BRING ON THE MUD !! 
I ride basically anything and am currently looking to get a group (social) of riders together here in Townsville to ride once a month. There are plenty of trails around here from novice to expert.
If you manage to organise a group ride I'd certainly be keen to join in, more the merrier. Oh, I ride a 4X4 Rincon.

Hey all live in mareeba 40 min away from cairns. Myself and two other mates ride KTM quads. we ride every weekend!! and night rides in area where we have permission.. Have just completed a Cape flattery ride to sand dunes and 330 km trail ride. have got a support car setup and everyone welcome.. Am organing another Cape Flattery ride soon!!! i will try post photos!! the riding around this area is top notch!! have gone south and ridden in brisbane area nothing compares to up here!!! please call me if interested in riding so we can make a plan!!!
