yfz 450 2007 backfiring

hey guys bought bike s/hand, has started backfiring when i let off power from flat out in 3rd or 4th etc, just one loud bang, but sounds like it could do damage......... eek i think the flame arrestor was removed from exhaust by my mate, other than that should be stock. any ideas would be appreciated.. also, wanted to take airbox lid off does this reqire bigger jets or more fuel etc? when i have done in past it has a flat spot on take off...

Too lean!

What year is it?

Also, anytime you do something with the intake or exhaust it will effect your air/fuel ratio. Particularly the YFZ450.

Put a biger pilot jet in it. Should help the problem. Pete, what size do you think??

If you wanted a starting point go with a 165 or 168 main and a 45 pilot.
