Evil or Very Mad

On Thumpertalk they are discussing recent (and immenent) announcements from KTM regarding their 2010 adjenda.

Besides announcing their withdrawal from the Dakar they are also talking about the new and deleted models from the 2010 line up.

No more KTM quads.......I dont know if this is USA only but it doesn't look good.

Linc mate, that's just BS ! How could a such good piece of engineering got cancelled ??. Did you see that KTM did not announce their 2010 line up for supermoto nor motorbikes ?? It to early to speculate on ATVs. Let’s wait till September/November that when they’ve announced XC back in 2007 ! Yet, I doubt they would stop production

I wouldn't be surprised to see some manufacturers cutting the line up back, after all, who'd have thought GM would go under...

Yeah I did notice the lack of SM bikes from the announcement of new 2010 bikes but.........

My info was not from the "new 2010 model line up" it was from the list of discontinued models............QUOTE: All ATV's............thats pretty clear.

At the same time I'll believe it when I see it. Wouldn't surprise me if it was a $h!t stir from a disgruntled US dealer.

As JONO said I wouldn't be surprised to see some manufacturers cutting the line up back. I think they are all hurting.

Taken from ktm forum

"I just got some more info from a very reliable source. KTM is stopping production of their ATVs because they have too much inventory. They are releasing a 2010 model, but it is actually a 2009 so nothing has changed. They plan on supporting their customers with parts and accessories. I would imagine that if the economy turns around and sales picks up they would keep making them. Time will tell ..."

No, I don't want one.

"KTM QUADS don't worry plenty of them around "..........I think thats the problem.

"2010 APEX PRO SHARK 300"...............yeah heard about that one in.......2006, 2007, 2008, and now 2009 - when they fix the stuff from 2005 I may take them seriously.

Well done on your Finke exploits

it takes a smart man to design a great quad honda did it in 1986 with the 250r till 1989 since then they have all been averagelly built by all designers and brands, with the help of the aftermarket parts suppliers they became faster and they handled better ask smitty he know it all
ktm did it this year stock even tho 2008 xc won heaps in the states, here in OZ not so much but they where there at the nats !
CAN AM done well here and in the states due to better marketing skills in quads/ KTM still learning this now with Lennie, ant, Chris and the team ktm at senior level they should do a lot better.
my point is that APEX PRO SHARK has come a long way since 2005 built a much safer, faster and reliable junior race quad this is where the next star / Chris Brenton will come from and did i mention affordable too the next junior bigger quad will be even better than the 90 and make my word I'll ride one in vets if not I'll do FINKE ON IT

by the way Dominic the hustler did complete the FINKE on a 1986 stock 250r motor never touch that thing just keeps on motoring it make me sick 2 complete pre runs to finke don't know how many motoxxx's flinders trail rides man it had more track time than smitty's had wins and thats heaps
isn't it ??? laughing

I have been advised that KTM will drop the XC and do the SX Quads Only in 2010.

I din't realise there was a problem. Haven't touched Chris's yet and that's got heaps of hour on it, and they are hard hours.

Hello stranger ! Yes Mate and I see you are Too ! Just busy to and fro WA !

I agree with Lance 100% on the KTM Product for reliability and performance
They are race engines with Hi Compression as standard ,you need to have an effective maintenance plan like any race package.
The bonus is you will save thousands of dollars on building race Quads of old ,even if you do step up your maintenance program to match the added performance . Smile
