That hurts.
I am only interested really of going just to race some far out bikes,but we cant even do that.
They need a super unlimited class where we can race them and dont take there beloved prize money from them,
And now $100 first prize ,I can tell you who is going to win before we even leave to go down there.Not to mention a 15 -18 hr drive for what ??
Lets get some tracks here up and running.

For the amount you guys spend on a "full house" banshee I would think that the first place prize money of $500 would be a spit in the pan. $500 split between 10 blokes doesn't add up to the reason youv'e all decided not to go. Good luck them supporting you for next year when you want more prize money.

Sydney to Perth for $500 = 4352Kms and 68 hours

Sydney to Adelaide for $100 = 1693Kms and 24.5 hours

Perth @ 12l/100Kms = $574 for fuel one way or $1148 return to win $500 or...............................................................

Adelaide @ 12l/100Kms = $223 for fuel one way or $446 return to win $100

Save $300 by going to Ponde in fuel let alone the saving of 87 hours return or pretend you got into racing quads in a straight line to make money.

I still can't figure out why you can't find places to race and have trouble convincing people to hand out large amounts of prize money for such committed people to your disipline of quad racing that you're trying to expand and build businesses off of. I really do applaud all of your commitment, no really I do

The mx nationals in tassie cost about $2000 for travel etc, with prize money i new i wouldnt see .

you have all of these quads doing nothing, just come over and do it. work with the ponde guys to make the event even better next time.

It's not going to grow over night and if you dont get your quads in front of a crowd it will never grow. be professional and patient with them and they will come around, there are in the bissness of making money and will see the light.

I will match the $100 (cash) first place prize. who else ?

I want to see all atv discipline's grow, its in the blood. ( I make nothing out of drag quads)

not a bad idea,

if my bike is ready i shall go as it was fun last time,
i have algnised a new class with the boys and i should be putting up prizy money

unlimited heads up racing anything goes, if it works out i will be putting 3g up for prize money to get quads and every one there and hope make it more inviting for people,
it is all under controll at the moment,

i sorted this out last night with them, so things are now looking up and hope it brings more quad to the event for some fun,

Sorry Dale but i think your out of line calling him a wanker.
i agree totally with Hudson, prize money is the last thing on my mind going to Ponde. if you had issues with the last trip then make sure the next trip goes smoothly. you being a buisness should be making every effort to show up at this meet as its the propper event, the last one was just a test and tune day not a official race meet.
if you want your buisness to get the air time and publicity that you have earnt, you must participate regardless of prize money , trophey etc.
i mean whos to say that you will even win?
the race hasnt been run yet so you never know what may happen.
me driving to mackay is almost as far as you going to perth and they offer no prize money at all. you wont hear me sooking about the cost.
at the end of the day we all have a expensive hobby, and if the bike stays in the shed, whats the point.

well its not always about the money that's a fair comment to all the above as most of you know just got back from Alice to have a run at deep well only to trash myself and my quad in the first lap first race, look how many people are going to try FINKE @ $460.00 ENTERY FEE we must really love this sport !! hey

if and when i crash my brains out i must say that i have met the Nice's bunch of people doing quad sports, hope it all ads up guys

Hit the nail on the head jumbo. The guys around this sport are fantastic but there's always a few in every bunch.

Rootsy, If every quad guy didn't persist in trying to further the growth of their chosen disipline then none of us would be racing. If you really want drag racing to come to the top, and the way you're building bikes I would think so, then you need to push back not run away. Oh and the wanker comment I'd probably edit my post but that's just me. Just other quad people trying to help YOU out. Read the posts and take it as constructive criticism

Hudson, I could not agree wih you and Dangerman more. Absolutey spot on. but...

As soon as I saw Rootsy's (maybe inappropriate) post, I though, yeah there would be another side to this story.
He might have had a really bad run with event management or anything.

Good call though Hudson, even if controversial you appear to have sparked some positive action.

Rootsy, Don't throw too much of 'your' money at prize money sponsorship unless you think you'll see the return in your business.
Just double the few hundred bucks or something like that.
I'm sure the main thing is everyone just wants to see you there.
That's the more important investment.
