SUNDAY 26 NOV 06
NEWCASTLE DUNES, there is a big trike meet on. Where looking for YAMAHA TRIKE owners to turn up.
Weve got 250Rs Tecates ATCs of all descriptions, but no word of any TRI Zs or other Yamahas.

Lastly did you ever race a trike. Looking for info on where people raced their trikes in the eighties.

I know my Dad used to race trikes at echo valley. They used a tie down to lower the back and pulled the forks through the triple trees to lower the front. They ran the track backwards to how we run it these days and used to do faster laptime than the cars in the car club when they ran the track except the trikes did the dog leg while the cars went straight through. They still did better laptimes. This was back when trikes were not accepted by MA or maybe it was just MQ so they had to run around with car clubs.
Ill ask Dad about some more info. when he flies home this weekend and ill post it up here. 
P.S. Dad was on a Tri-Z but he isnt sure where its gone. Didn't keep track of it after he sold it.

Hi ozquad44. We raced trikes in the 80s for 4 year in south australia wicked fun . Mostly 4 hour enduros and some sprints. I have owned trz250, 250r and a 350x would like to see some of them racing again.Will try to find some pics of the racing in the 80s.

It was a great day , all the old school trike where there ,jmc had the record with a 1970 90 trike ,right up to 87 model 250 tecate trike and there was two of those .
Its good to see the trike's going around 700's and 450,s racing around tracks.
and some pretty awsome wheelies............................... |

We had a whip around and have some silencers for that bloody yellow thing of yours..... 
Great day was had by all,next item will be a big 3 wheeler ride day and drag session i think.

Dont worry I had a head ach for 3 hrs when I got home , I scared a few people letting down there 4wd tyres , I would ride past and they would near fall over from the noise...lol
