I know a couple of people who went... My son wanted to do it but couldnt as theres an age restriction on it, you have to be 18 to ride.. anyways next year 
Will contact a couple and see if they have any more news than just the results.

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum, heck I'm new to quads but I went to the GasDash 2008 and had a ball. Me and another bloke were kind of pit crew for a mate riding a DS650 but all I really did was keep him company for the drive up there and feed him chocolate and gatorade at a few of the fuel stops.
I was just happy to be involved in a small way in what I'm sure will become a much bigger event with quad riders as word spreads. There was heaps of 2wheelers and some pretty mean V8 buggies and 4WD's.
My only concern is that the event itself may attract too many entries, at the moment - buggies - 4WD's - bikes - quads - all race on the same day.
I know it's a long way for a lot of guys on the east coast, but I'm sure I'm not the only west aussie who would encourage as many to come over and give it a crack.
I'm not saying come over here and get comfortable, heck we don't want you thinking you can stay 
Now that I've seen this kind of racing I'm thinking we need to change our camping holidays from the coast (swimming - fishing) to the finke and such. Now I need to start buying flowers and being nice for a while. te he
