Three boys injured in quad bike crash.

Three teenage boys were allegedly riding a stolen quad bike east of Melbourne when it crashed into a power pole, critically injuring two of them.

The three were thrown from the quad bike when it hit the pole in Station Road, Wesburn, near Warburton, shortly before 6pm (AEDT) on Wednesday, police said.

The three boys, all aged 14, were riding on the road.

The quad bike had allegedly been stolen from a property at Three Bridges, about 14km from the accident scene, police spokeswoman Senior Constable Sharon Darcy said.

Two of the boys suffered critical upper body injuries and were flown to the Royal Children's Hospital.

They remained in a critical but stable condition early on Thursday, Const Darcy said.

The third boy was taken to the same hospital by road and is in a stable condition, suffering minor injuries and shock.

Station Road resident Belinda Nicolands said her husband heard the quad bike strike the pole at the front of her house.

"It was very chaotic and sickening," she told the Herald Sun online.

"He heard this bang and ran out.

"I came home five minutes later and saw these three boys lying on the nature strip. It was very, very distressing."

One of the boys said they were travelling at 60km/h when the quad bike crashed, throwing them into the pole, she said.

Station Road, a shortcut between Wesburn and nearby Launching Place, was a popular stretch for hoons, she said.

"We've made up signs saying 'Slow down kids', because it is a quick back road between Wesburn and Launching Place," she said.

"They fly up and down our road all the time on motorbikes, cars and trucks."

Quads are just unlucky they got a mention.
One would expect that, 14 year old boys driving any 'stolen' vehicle into a power pole at 60kmh (if that's how fast they were going) could cause serious injury.
Quad, Car, M bike, bicycle or skateboard.
The quad bit would not really change the result.

You watch, the next storie the quad owner will get the blame for not securing his quad. Typical.

Serves them right i reckon.

If it was my 14 year old and he had taken something that belonged to somone else he would be more worried about what punishment his father would have for him when he got out of Hospital!!!!!!!!!!

The best thing I have tought my two boys is RESPECT, for others and themselves
