been a two wheeler guy all my life, currently have R1 but before that yz250 dirt bike.

previously ridden a mates banshee years ago and loved it. so looking at getting rid of the R1 and getting a quad, but which one?

want it for bush trails, maybe some flat track speedway. want something that is easy to wheelie, slide

thinking yzf450, banshee, raptor or.......

budget up to 10k

Trail riding go a Raptor, jumping-speedway YFZ 450 all the way !

YFZ 450 much lighter and easier to throw around and wheelies no worries.

For trail riding though a Raptor is unreal, tonnes of torque, tonnes of power and the added reverse which is awesome to have

Sure you can, unless it's a triple cylinder laughing laughing

The banshee has no torque though, plenty of HP though Wink

Pretty Spoilt for choice mate! If you look through some of the ads you'll find a honda 450 set-up for speedway with some great pics of it doing that. Apparantly convert it back to trails with just a change of shocks which Im sure he has for you. Not sure Ive seen another one to compare pricing too and price was good and maybe better.

One of the only quads I would rule out is an early model Raptor 660.....Gearbox issues

- also 5 years old is getting on for a quad.

For 10k you could get a Raptor 700 with a few goodies thrown in. Dont risk it; get the 700 or a 450 thats just a year or 2 old.

You can by a brand new Polaris Outlaw 525 with IRS for 10 Grand a heaps better trail quad than anything with a solid axle.

yeah true, almost certain on getting a raptor 700 07 or 08 model if i can find one in nsw, all the half decent ones seem to be in perth, cairns or somewhere else in the middle of no where.

Not to sure about a 450, not going to be doing any supercross work mainly just bush tracks, what you think?

I had a tricked out 660 for quite some time and loved every minute of it... had a banshee for a bit too and while they are probably just as much fine they dont quite have the handling or comfort of a raptor and im 6"2 so the raptor stayed.... but like i said banshee's are an absolute scream
