| Hi all just been checking out the Townsville motorcycle club website and they have on there calender 4 club days on for the rest of the year. The dates are Sept 14, Oct 5, Nov 2 and the Woodstock classic Oct 19. The club lets quads ride on club days so when it gets closer and anyone that is keen let me know so i can make sure the club will still run us or run the proposed club days. |

| I am keen to have a go. Never raced before. What do you need for 'scrutineering? I have nerf bars but other than that its a stock 08' YFZ 450. |

| October the 5th is the qld long track titles, not mx. Apparantly there is only 2 quads nominated last week and nominations shut on friday that just went, otherwise late fee charges will apply. So whos riding out of the flat track mob? |

Things you need to race mx is, QUAD BIKE: nerf bars, kill switch (dead man), plugged ends in handle bars, brakes work, wheels are tight and axle to, no loose parts on bike, lights tapped up, numbers.
RIDER: helmet, boots, goggles, riding gear, roost gaurd, back protector, elbow gaurds, just the usuals |

| Thanks for that much appreciated. How do I nominate and would a stock 450 be at all competitive with an average rider? |

| if you wanted to race the flat track at woodstock it will be to late as nominations shut last friday, otherwise they will sting you $50 on top of your nomination fee. The standard 450 of any brand is good enough for the beginner but once your confidence and speed gets better and faster then you should look at getting aftermarket gear for them to handle better. But best off for any beginner is to get out there and have a go and have fun. thats the most important part of it all. doesnt matter where you come as long as you had fun and go home in one piece. |

i was up in townsville on the weekend the townsville classic is cancelled they now have club days on the 2nd of nov and the 16th of nov. The track up there looks pretty awsome big table tops. it would be good to se a few people travel p from central qld to get some good numbers as people have tried to organise numbers and people dont show up _________________ ride hard |

yeah there was some great racing in the 2 stroke class and 4 stroke class. Apparantly 1 point sperated myles and skinny. Shame there were not many quads there, espicially local flat track riders to support the event. I think this is the positions
2 stroke class:
1st Joe "Gravel" Gauche (sorry joe cant spell your last name)
2nd Lee Bonato
3rd Alf "Big nuts" ? (Not sure about this position)
4 stroke
!st Skinny
2nd myles
3rd landy |
