It seems no-one is selling those Typhoon Quads anymore. The 125cc quads based around a pitbike frame.
Was there a problem with them?
I was at Woodridge on the weekend and two were getting around the track no problem. In fact, one seemed to give a Raptor 250 a run for its money.
I'd like to get one for my daughter when she is a bit older. _________________ State governments give us REC rego + area to ride ATVs legaly! They are good little bikes for flat track (no jumps). Mikey was given one to race here and in his first year on it he is 3rd!! The age of the class here is 13 to 8 ... (Mikey is 8 ) and he is 3rd!!
Really nice little bikes ... they dont "really" like the trannies "crunched" (where you change gear without the clutch) ... but generally bullet proof!!
Here they are called Puzzey, after the chap that is bringing them in - Mike Puzzey.
OK ... nothing about where to buy them in Aus ... _________________ Mikey got 3rd in the Nationals!!

No problems with them other than they are a bit more expensive than the rest of the chinese stuff. A bit of time and some money thrown at the suspension and they are quite capable of some serious jumping at the MX track. Iv'e done a fair bit of finding out what it's possible to break on them but then again they were never designed to be ridden buy a 90kg rider....
www.typhoon110.com is a place in WA that sells them or there are a few 2nd hand ones around over here.
I believe the three amigos in Adelaide still sell them and also Atomik now have a knock of version (I know a chinese copy of a chinese copy) that they are flogging on ebay pretty cheap. _________________

Don't buy off Atomik is my advice though. You won't get parts even in waranty unless you complain like you got your arm chewed off by a dog and then they still have trouble getting them to you. When my mum asked them after the axle broke on my bike (still have to tell you all that story) and mum rang up to get parts the were $100 dearer thatn another company and when they got asked "If it was just a Friday Arvo special they said I guess so, bad luck. Don't buy off them. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

Yeah those chinese copy's of chinese copies are a laugh. I saw the Atomic rip offs and they don't have the round style bearing carrier which I think is a bit shite. I'm not even sure if the rims are alloy?
I'm not in the market for one just at the MO, I was just hoping that the design will be around for a while. I'm planning on getting one for my daughter when she is a bit older. Might get a onefiddy just to putt around on with her.
Unless of course any of the Big four come up with a 110-150cc quad that is already wide, has alloy rims, is light weight, with duel a-arms, four wheel disks, nerf bars, and looks like a mini racer. Then I'll buy one of those instead. Won't hold my breath though. _________________ State governments give us REC rego + area to ride ATVs legaly! OZ you mean scroll up this thread or was there something on that site I missed? Gumby often does.
If you're just saying this site yeah, Ive seen the other prices here, but I was just pointing out that was the only Internet Market price I could find for a new one! WOWSA!
Given it might be my only chance of MXing this year or maybe even next year as well I'd probably just buy Pete's 2nd hand unit, cant go to wrong I dont think.
Then i will have gotten out!
Truth is though Ive not done the ground work neccessary to MX. I havent chased down licensing or anything like that, Ive only read a couple of supplementary reg's but even then a posting for a race like Vets Open class doesnt tell me a top capacity if any, etc, etc..
So Im not really educated enough yet to make a go at MXing a successful day yet.
Having said that its a 2 hour conversation max to get me there as well.
I think Ive already missed the cutoff date for Ararat which is a shame so maybe next year for MX and say Sandfest this year. But overall the type of riding I most want to do is trails, offroad riding so I dont think Ive got a garage for 3 bikes and I know I dont have the coin yet.

geeman, i think that OZ450 was implying that Scooter had mentioned in this thread that he has a brand new one for $1650...
there is pretty much no difference between the 110 and 125 version except for engine capacity which needs to be 110 for a junior to race in that age/capacity class. FYI juniors need to be 12 before they can race in the 200 2T/300 4T class so a blaster isn't a substitute for a 110 as far as competition is concerned. _________________
