| Just got a quote for genuine Can Am skip plates. They reckon $1750 for the set thats right $1750!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Can buy a new frame for that. You can buy they set on ebay for $350 but they wont ship to Australia. Why do we pay so much for everything in this country???? |

I have a customer who replaced his frame cost $4200 + fitting . Bash plates don't do anything except more cost when you have to fix it . The mod that geeman found is the only way to go but use solid not tube. there must be 100 + can am running around up here . Another tip before you ride anymore get some water proof grease and do all your electrical connections or I bet you will limp home if it lets you and loosen all the zip ties as they cheap Chinese electrical wire. Please Please look at your exhaust pipe wrapping it comes off and melts the plastic fuel tank shourd. everyone i see I look at that first and the owners sh!t themselves. The belts are just rubbish. replace them every ten hours . The trailing swing arm nuts come loose and snap off the chassis you need to check that before every ride. other than that the engines are the best out there until it comes to buy parts
Hope this helps and if your dealer says this has never happen before he's a lier

I'd be using at least 3mm wall thickness tube, very hard to bend in any circumstance. _________________ 2005 KFX700

Was sure I read all 09 Cam ams come with bash plate standard, not that I think that'll do the trick as far as extra support goes. If you really think you need to re-enforce the spline frame.
Exchange rates do make foriegn import attractive ATM, thats were I would be depending on my local 3rd party privider, not an OEM dealer but a non affiliated bike shop/ workshop that you know and trust.
Shop around and tell the dealers also to put it back to head office you're not paying their ridiculous markup.
Im still astounded that despite almost dollar parity with the US we are stillpaying double approx for a product.
And dont tell me shipping this n that I worked for a company that moved less machine that were, heavier, bigger and all the bad points, and its just over a grand including insurance and these machines were $300,000.
Every import right now should be costing us dealers (Polaris, Arctic Cat, Can am, not sure who has their factory where to be honest so it could include all Jap Brands as well) basically advertised retail price over there to get them on the floor here, then add the dealer markup.
Now I know the dealer will say he's not getting it for that and he's probably 100% honest, but somewhere were paying a unecessary premium right now.
Our economy is actually boyant compared to both US and asian markets, Bike companies should be falling over themselves to get cheap stock in the country while they can to sell so they have 10 years of ongoing service support to get $$'s from while O/S economies recover.
But really "i dont even have a quad" so what would I know. _________________ www.asho.com.au for your shooting and outdoor needs

In 10 yrs of woning most brands of quads I have never heard of one with so many issues as above ???. Why would you pay $15k + and then have to worry wether it was going to get you back to the car park at the end of the day. Thanks for the heads up ...i think im going to turn blue !!! _________________ It's time too ride !!!!!!! |

Hey Husky Rang my dealer in Toowoomba to get a quote for a center bashy, both front and center will cost around $450:00. Got to speaking about the frame issue, and they've had two bent frames to deal with, both from high impact crashers. Total cost around the $2000:00 mark to fix. The dealer where you are sounds like he's having a field day. By the way what model are you refering to because Outty's dont have swing arms, and as for muffler wrapping there is none, there's a metal plete seperating them both. |

| Your better of waiting for a after market one Rossco even the dealer reckons the genuine one are not worth paying for coz they are not very thick and don't offer enough protection, and it not worth covering unless you cover the whole thing including the foot wells and the suspention arms. An after market on will be cheaper too. Dont worry about it Rossco i'm not. |

Howdy husky, I was not having a crack at all, please understand that, But I find it hard to believe that they can be that bad ???? I personally would do that fix that Geeman found regardless, its cheap and easy to do and would eliminate problem for good. _________________ 2005 KFX700

change the tie rods, put braidd brake lines on it. make sure your carbies are spot on (if its been jetted and your running a pipe ) they are lousy mud bashers...they sink very quickly... But the engines and auto are aas tough as any Vtwin on the market, being auto Dont expect engine braking, once your off the gas she rolls free, and you only have your front brakes, only use the rear brakes to get into and out of corners quicker, best bike I've ever owned. _________________ 2005 KFX700
