Subaru STi Quad

I can only guess this is an auto engine but it seems to me they never get it out of second they're that scared. And you could put me in that bracket.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awvNFJNLPb0&feature=related

This one has a bit of everything but a serious quad kicks in at the 1 minute mark the rest is a V8 Mini. These guys are a serious R&D house. Im learning Frenc just so I can go polish their bikes and maybe be buried in the bitumen outside the front door so everything they create has to touch me.

My mum warned me about bikes like this........ girls she warned me nothing about!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Man I seriously watched 500 you tubes like this yesterday and this was one of them.

Too bad that even though the video is amatuer, you really need to hook up with at least one more camera in the stands near the end.

It was just a fst finishing dot on the horizon.

With the ADR of the Can am Spyder I really see that as an opportunity to get a professional road purpose quad adr'd. These french guys I think in my second you tube make one.

We just need someone with a few loose sheckles to import them!?!

It would all be part of breaking down resistance to quad riding in all Australian states, when quads can suddenly be adr'd by your local mechanic, panic WILL ensue at state level.

I love Joyners stuff out of the states but pricey!! whoaaaa. Hrm Hrm

Im not not saying the quality of components wouldnt warrant the price but when they start overtaking suzuki Jimney's in price people take a second look at their life unless they have mega cash. Or a mega addiction!! laughing laughing

Quads will never be ADR`d by your local mechanic, ADR`s are not just handed out , the submission must be made by the manufacturer or importer and submitted with all the appropriate and relevant proof of compliance ( some of which can be destructive testing ) and so it is therefore a very expensive undertaking, this is WHY atv`s can not get Registration except under specific circumstances for specific purposes eg. primary producers ect. that do not require ADR comlpiance but are registered under special cicumstances. It is also worth noting that ADR compliance does not automatically guaratee Roadworthiness or vice versa.

They just ADR'd the Spyder for what must be a very very limited market. If it was a worthwhile financial undertaking for the Spyder then I would Imagine that some Quads such as the Lazareth - Toxic (out of france), or Polaris's Revolver would generate just as much appeal.

I think thats not clear in my post Hugh.

So its already being done, I believe that horse has bolted.

Whatever is required is obviously being met (As in the Spyder, gelierra scooter etc.). What we dont have in front of our eyes right now are the models that will be ADR compliant all you need do in band one more wheel on either of those two compliant bike and the full gamett is open. But I would bet my bottom dollar companies would be pushing hard for 4wd versions to be made compatible etc, just like the range of cars and bikes. So a lot of models then may become backwards comatible where data already produced for the UK or US (some states) may be available to fast-track some existing models.

Dont get me wrong Im not saying its a tommorrow thing, but say something like the Polaris Revolver concept would be built to those standards and if quads were legal they could be reverse engineered quite quickly because the designs are all there just cghange the materials fittings etc. I just thik its very far away from what we used to think was completely inconcievable.

UK seem to have some funny standards coz you whack together any peice of carbon fibre monocoque and put it on the road dont they?

Maybe its hoping too much but i bet if a few more manufacturers put concepts on the floor its not far off! Very Happy

Hopefully while Im still young enough to enjoy it to its full extent. (maybe that day has already passed!!)

And if its pie in the sky well somebody has to dream of it for it to come true, so maybe that someone can be me, as Ive said in other posts, Im a concept kinda guy!! Laughing Laughing Cool

Oh well as you said it isnt happening now.

Cheers Gav
