Riding or driving an unregistered vehicle is around a 500 buck fine and i think it is 3 demerit points off your licence

Andy as a new entrant would love to get your thoughts on a thread in the Vic forum on riding around since you raise the question here.
Why dont you have a browse at that and put in your two bobs worth about what you want from Rec Riding.
Im putting in more than my two bobs and Im not even riding (yet i say hopefully!)

cops done me for riding in a sandy riverbed, gave me a $150 fine as a warning, next time the take the quad

I got done at Xmas just gone, $515.oo
Put a bit of a dampener on the holiday...
It was at our on-site van at Mansfield, riding on the dry lake-bed.
Solo-Cop was pretty cool, had a chat about our plight. Said he belives quads SHOULD be rec.reg'd. His oppinion was they do less damage than 4x4's & half quads etc.

me and 2 mates got caught on the queens birthday crossing the highway by 2 unmarked cops they were all good about it let us off with a warning and told us dont do it and so on...we just didnt tell them about the 25odd kms we just did on public dirt roads, lucky they didnt have a peek at the gps on my bars

don't forget with the new anti-hooning laws in Vic they can confiscate your quad too . on top of the fine.

WOW ... take your quad hay. Things are a little better here in SA (thats South Africa, not South Australia ) ... the cops are so usless that we either just give them ZAR500-00 (about AU$65-00) and they let us go ...
Or as you see the cops, you slow down, like you gonna stop, then as you get close, you just open up and roost the "fellow"
Guess things will change when we get to SA (South Australia, not South Africa :s )

 I emailed the Premier of Victoria "Hon" Mr. John Brumby around the 1st week in may in regards to rec rego for quads. Didn't here a reply until early june, which was pretty much just an 2 line e-mail from his office saying they had passed it on to the minster for roads. Still waiting for a reply!!! No wonder I didn't vote in the Gippsland election the other weekend. I rekon they think we are just a very small majority of the community. Maybe a protest down burke st in Melbourne to ask why we cant have rec rego might be in order or even just a procession of quads on trailers to parlement house in melbourne to show just how many of us there are might prove a point!!!! Or maybe im just to optimistic
On a lighter note. Can any one tell me if i NEED am Motorcycling Vic licence to race the Bairnsdale round of the Gippy centers, or is there a way I can race with out one?
