Does anyone else think its weird.... the amount of people who complain about dirtbikes/quads and accidents etc
yet at the beach, they have hundreds of people get themselves into trouble and put other peoples lives at danger to rescue them...
and... they make award winning sensationalistic shows about it?
Horse riding is still more dangerous than bikes

2 true MrsG at least bikes have got ignitions that u can turn OFF when the THROTTLE STICKS  , seen a girl on a horse once with a stuck throttle, WOZNT PRETTY !!!!

Imagine racing a MX with one of your pit crew controlling your throttle by remote from the sidelines
That's what I reckon show jumping a horse would be like.

Well I have tried show jumping back when I was on legs not wheels. It is s##t scary. Especially if you have a horse that likes to rush jumps. In the 4 or five years I rode I fell off I think 13 times. I ended up in hospital for 3 days with concussion one time.  The only thing I have done on a quad is nearly broke my shoulder blade when I flipped the 110 end over end. The main scary bit about horses is the control their own speed. You have a bit of a say in it but their idea is final. Jumping is scary on a horse. Well I think so anyway. Cutting and Campdrafting are heaps better.

yep, always the way, we always get the rough end of the deal...
It is wierd they make a show of idiots who choose to take on the sea without a brain in their head and minute after minute they have to get rescued, it's just another revenue issue I think....  |

MrsBullet is happy that I've almost completely given up surfing for Quad racing.
I might break a few bones racing a quad, but that's not quite as bad as being eaten alive.
I'll bet there is a lot more spinals and deaths from Surfing that Quad riding...
In any case I'd like the right to do both, either, or whatever else I choose.
I don't like the idea of safely watching TV for the next 30 years until the big C gets me anyway.

| Well guy's I think it's all about the recreation police. For example there trying to out law 4x4's in the city's, stop fishing in certain places, and as for quad/bike riders we've been at the top of the hit list for years. What are we expected to do sit around like stale bottles of p@#s. Here they are saying that we're now the most obese country in the world, and they don't want us to have a recreation GO FIGURE!!! |

I guess they complain alot thanx to the mindless people who do the dumb things that give the dirt bike/quad enthusiests a bad name both as people and as a sport...imagine what we could acheive if they televised and gave us the same coverage as some of the crap reality shows that are being hammered into us...its a shame that a house full of dimwits out rules the skill and stamina and sheer fun that playing in the dirt brings...

ye its all cr*p cos people steriotype motorbike riders as lawbrakers and immediatly think ur sum kind of dodgy hillbilly if u ride off road and as for the accidents i know that in the army they will not let u do any racing sport cos its supposedly easy to injure urself and if u join the police there insurences and sporting benefits wont cover any kind of racers because of injuries but i know more people who injur themselves constantly playing sports like football, soccer etc. and spend more time out of action than anyone i know who races mx yet there not subjected to all the stuff we as riders are...............................its funny me saying this considering i got ran over by my own bike yesterday  but still
