| I have swann insurance for fire and theft as well. Also covers transportation of quad. Read the fine print on terms and condition and mods you can have. ie. quad must be chained to a fixed object while in locked storage. |

Weve always had Arista Underwriting, which is My dirt bike insurance.
Used them for about 8 years, touch wood, no claims. But theyre pretty good with dealing with the changes of bikes we go through as the kids have gone from ATC 70 to TRX 90 to blasters to 450's the 250R was the hardest to insure as we needed a full list of parts to show value, and a signed valuation, and we supplied photo's. Also supplied a website with other 250R's for sale in the US to prove its worth. _________________ www.waquadmx.com |

Check the fineprint. Some insurers insist that your ATV's must be chained down and forceable entry must be proven. _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

| Western qbe, fire and theft. No trailer coverage though, market value. Cost me $312 for 12 months. I had my two wheeler insured through swann, it was over 3 time more expensive than qbe and after the amount of hassle my mate went through with swann when his bike was nicked I'll never use them again. |

just thought i would ad to this thread.
I just insured my new 700 grizzly with shannons (i have 2 cars with them already).
Its insured for 19k on layed up cover. only cost me $205 a year.
Which covers me for fire and theft and trailer. doesnt cover any damages i may do while riding it.
it must be locked up. will also cover if it gets stolen whilst camping etc, but I must of taken every precaution to prevent theft, eg chained to the ute. _________________ 2013 can am 1k XTP

Gotta watch """"SHANNONS""" .... very cheap ... but they duped me on a lagitimate claim with bullshit....was a very messy drawn out drama with no happy ending. but that was when they were still a family bussiness .. now they are owned by Suncorp Metway .. same as AAMI. _________________ Consistency..... | My bikes are with Shannons. Ltz400 and ltz 90. Under half the cost of Swan's premium. I have cars with shannons and my house though. Been with them for 12 years. Quads are insured in the shed, on the trailer but you must prove you have taken precautions to prevent theft. I highly recomend them! |

I've been putting together some info on Dirt Bike Insurance and what seems to be a common theme among insurers is that what you are actually insured for is very limited.
- Your dirt bike or ATV must be chained up when not in use.
- Your dirt bike or ATV must be chained up and in a secured building when at your place of residence.
- Your dirt bike or ATV is not insured if used in any competition event.
- If the bike is stolen there must be visible evidence of violent and/or forcible entry
- Events such as war, natural disasters or acts of terrorism are not covered by insurance.
So I ask, what is the chance of your bike being stolen if it is chained up and locked in your garage or shed?
Why do finance companies insist on dirt bikes or ATV's being insured if under finance when the insurance cover is so limited? _________________ Super Freestyle Motocross |
