what do you mean it won't start or idle, if it wont start how do you know it wont idle?

what sized jets did he go to?
is the DRD a full system or slip on?
is the K&N a stock replacement or Pro-Flow kit?

I usually go to a 45 pilot and 165 or 168 main as a base line setting.

I'm presuming with all that that the air box lid is off.
try 1 1/2 to 2 turns out on the mixture screw. but that won't be stopping it from starting.

I know it's obvious but has he checked to see if there is fuel getting down into the carby bowl? maybe the float got stuck if he's had the bowl off to change jets.

check the connector on the ignition as the yammy one take a bit of pressure to seat properly, also try putting the std Ignition back on it to see if it'll start with that if he's still haveing problems.

I just got a GYTR slip on exhaust. Will I need to change my jetting? I havn't fit it yet so not sure what to expect. Will it run like crap or even not run at all?

At the moment it has stock exhaust, GYTR airfilter and adapter and no idea what jets.

More than likely yes. Unless your running rich already which I doubt.

It will still run but not to it's full potential.

Stock jetting?
Did the new pipe come with any jets?
A good place to start is 168 main, 45 pilot.

I have no idea what jets are in it. It wa a race bike and has had minor engine work. They couldnt tell me what had been done though.

The new pipe did not come with jets.

And recommendations on which jets kit is good value and who sells them?

Either GYTR or JD is what I use.

The GYTR are available from Yamaha.

The JD should be available from most motorbike/quad shops.

Cheers for that. I put the pipe on today, other than a low idle it seem to run smoother than before. Will have to check the jets. Thinking it may of been jetted for pipe by previous owner.

Thanks again for the advice.
