 |
|
hey guys
has anyone had any problems with there brakes on a raptor 350 (brand new)
because the lever on my misses bike will come into the bar before the bike stops .............ive taken it back to Yamaha and they have bleed it, tested it and they said the internals seem to have nothing wrong with them
i think there is something wrong with them for sure because there is just no pressure behind them
if all fails i will buy a master cylinder of a rappy 700r and slap that on because i know they stop things _________________ You don't know how fast you were going? I guess that means I can write anything I want to on the ticket, huh?

We had a Warrior. (Same bike) never had any problems with the brakes.... They were a bit spongy but worked well. Have you checked all the seals and things? The bike shop might have done what ours does.... Push the quad to the corner and when you pick it up say they couldnt fix it. They jus dont like working on quads. _________________ Mic

take the brake line off the master cyl , put your finger over the hole , than pump the lever up.
hold finger on hole and see if the lever becomes harder when pumping brakes up, bleed from there first ,when you got fluid sperting out ,put the line back on .
bleed full system. slowly .
this may help .
if i was there i would bleed it for you. |

im not sure how the bike shops work with that type of stuff but im sure if YOU play with parts on a new bike you void the warranty...if you still have issues keep taking it back under warranty and when they have had a look into fixing it go take it for a ride there at the shop if still dont work good enouth tell them not good enouth fix it again. you should be able to lock up the back brakes on the hard road.(if you can put little markes on the bolts and see if they get moved i.e. parts taken off) _________________ Sponsors ,Cullys Yamaha,Pirtek Malaga

totally agree with GYTR Raptor, if its under warranty don't touch it yourself that will just give em excuse not to fix it, persist on them fixing it right no matter how much you have to bug em or take the bike back until your happy with it, _________________ "Its Only A Flesh Wound !!!"

they still should lock up.. front or back should all act the same. but at the same time if they dont lock up that mite be a blessing so then if you slam them on your not going to f@#k up and lose control and go over the handle bars ??? but if you do play with them there is a big chance that you wll void warranty on the whole bike. for if somthing else goes wrong they could say you have done this mod so how do we know that you havnt done another mod. best to keep it STD and use that warranty then when warranty is up do your mods(warranty is only 6 months?). _________________ Sponsors ,Cullys Yamaha,Pirtek Malaga

the brakes come all the way into the bars before the bikes stops........
i said to them "should it stop before it touched the bar"......hey said "yeah but the other bike we have on the floor is like that, but we will bleed them and test them for you"
and after i got home (i should of ridden it before i left) the brakes were gay agian...... its pissing me off coz now i have to drive another 30 min to take it back to them so they can say "nar thats how there supposed to be " _________________ You don't know how fast you were going? well that sounds like a load of curd what the bike shop said!! clearly it sounds like there is a bit of air in the brakes by what you have just said. i have never seen a leaver touch the bar at all. but at the same time i put stainless steel brake lines on my raptor and it gave me the rite s#@ts trying to bleed the brakes i would ring up yamaha (head office) and say your not happy with the service from the shop can i take the bike to another bike shop to get the warranty work done?? for clearly they dont know how to bleed brakes!!! i have 5 bikes 4 of them are yamaha`s and all of them i can only get half the travel from the off postion to touching the bar. and at that half way travel they are locked solid... _________________ Sponsors ,Cullys Yamaha,Pirtek Malaga

If you want on monday i will ring up the yamaha bike shop deal with and ask them how they feel on there bikes on the floor. just to confirm that for some gay reason that the 350s should not be any diffrent _________________ Sponsors ,Cullys Yamaha,Pirtek Malaga
