They mount to the swingarm pivot point and are designed to keep the chain at the same tension throughout the rear wheel travel. This stops the suspension binding up when the chain tension tightens and loosens. They are fairly noisy as the chain has to travel over a couple of metal sprockets.
This reminds me of a local ATV "expert" who wanted to put one on his un-suspended 70 trike. If people only knew.... |
