Hello all. i have hit 147kph on my raptor in black crudy dirt.i had a little bit of offroad rage , i had a hero on a 450 or 400 honda quad decide to over take my wife and oldest son and cover them in rocks and lime stone.but once he did it he must of heard me come after him for i was up his bum real quick ,he must of knowen what i had install for him and was swearving all over the track so i could not over take him . so i went bush (black crudy dirt) and hit 147 and flew past him and he coped some good lime stone rocks then he disapered into the bush... i know we should be looking out for each other but there are some dicks out there that just need to be put back in there spot every once and a while.but getting back to the speed..147kph is fast enouth for anyone as far as i can see,for all you need is a little slip up and its game over for you.!!! Evil or Very Mad

Better tell me what settings you have on your speedo GYTR as I have a Vapor and it reads 112 as my top speed, would like to know if that's about right...

Hi Tasraptor. sorry i just had a look in the shed for it as above i stated that i some how damaged it by having the poop rattled out of it or high pressure cleaner damaged it. so i do not have it anymore.but all the info i can give you is i got it from a yamaha shop and it was like a push bike set up with a wire going to the front wheel were there was a pulse magnet attached on the brake caliper and another on the wheel it read speed, max speed, hours riding and time.it lasted 1 year then it stoped and i changed the battery and still didnt go. so i turfed it.about 3 months ago.so i carnt help sorry.

Im curious on what everyone uses to get their speed figures, how accurate they are & if theyve been calibrated or checked with something like a GPS receiver or a radar gun. Hrm Confused Neutral
-Ive fitted a few 'magnet pulse' type speedos (set on wheel circumference) & they were never accurate when checked with a $1000 GPS.(not a 'navigator'-allthough i assume they are all accurate too-Ive only compared one to the GPS.)
*95% of vehicles ive checked show about 5% faster than they are really going.
*Most people think if their odometer is accurate to the roadside distance posts, then their speedo must be accurate too.<WRONG Hrm Rolls eyes

well to add my 2 cents to the banshee speed, i fella i know had clocked his banshee beside a commadore going down the bitumin road at 140+ (cant remember specifics but i know i was around the 150 mark) a set of fmf fatty pipes and jetting was all he did to the engine, not sure on gearing and tyre size, it is quite possible to get a banshee to do 177km/h and still only be a 350

raptor 700 would need geared up & speed limiter disconnected to clip the 130 mark - my butt speedo tells me about mid 120s on hard pack beach.

recently saw a modified 350 banshee smoke all comers at dirt drags over 400m no radar - just first to the line.

i guess thats the issue with every one and there speed settings, unless you have had them tested with a radar gun or speed trap we are only realy guessing that our equipment on our bikes are correct. for example i saw mine at 147kph and like hammer686 said he thinks 700s only can do aprox 120 to 130.. i have no proof that my speedo is/was correct.apart from us reling onthe factory settings insaled in our speedos. eek but on that what ever speed i did was more than fast enouth for me and just like most of us we know and feel when we have hit the limit of our riding skills and we should all sick to that unless you want to kill youself or somone else.( an no in not a cop hahaha) did sound like i am one but hay haha. Rolls eyes

Well i borrowed the measure wheel from work and walked the 5 km driveway at the farm and the speedo measured the same, so i guess I am slow on a standard engine Raptor with just intake and exhaust mods done, damn fsat enough for me anyway,,, 112.3 kmh is my best....that's with the speed limiter still intact, BGTW I don't wanna go any faster... eek

this is more of a polite way of saying to 4stroker well if ya good beat dereks record if not why argue his banshee couldnt do it simple

for anyone who is interested, my mates T-Rex cylindered banshee, (72mm bore, 7mm stroker = 500cc), pulled only 9600rpm with 15-36 gearing, and 20 inch tyres. this EQUATES to approx. 95mph, or 155km/h

it has a dyno proven 70hp at the wheels, which is why i find it hard to believe that a 350cc banshee can make 85hp and go 22km/h faster than it!

also this bansh has a 250r style swingarm which allows it to run the smaller rear sprockets, which you cant do with a standard banshee sprocket carrier.

im not really into arguing or being tough on the internet, maybe i came across a little rude? i apologise lol

From memory Brad I think I said the LT-R dose around the high 120's but my YFZ could do mid 140's
