Hello every one. i have just bought a new raptor for my son and the thing yamaha have now is all bikes come std with data dot on them. well the invisable data dot looks like dobs of clag glue that we had at school. isnt it ment to be insisable so if its stolen the bad guys carnt see it???

so you can not see were they are(as in you know were they are but the are invisable) or you just can not see the glue ??

wouldnt have a clue where on my bike its been done, u cant see them without the proper tool.

its clearly visable white dobs of glue with tiny dots in it..they are about the size of a 20cent coin..i thougt it was abit gay for if it got knocked off they would just have to scrap them off.

They might just be the stickers on each part or section so that crims can see that the bike is data dotted and not bother steeling it? otherwise you still loose ya bike and the crims only find out its got dots when they go to flog it off. the data dots are or should be sprayed on in a mist like application not just blobbed in 1 section, but yer i would contact the dealer to confirm any doubt, could you let us know what they say please...cheers

| the dots should be on in about 20-30 places, once the glue drys [ that suspends the dots ] it should be pretty much clear and you should only see what resembles, dots of fly sh*t. We have to put them inside hollow axles/shafts, CDI box, back of cyl and head, wheels, carb. and heaps of other things. I gotta say it would be pretty much impossible to scape them all off. We've had to do hundreds and I've never seen any white marks left after the glue drys. Wadey [ Yamaha Dealer ] |

One of my mates had it put on his yz and they were visible for about a month then the glue look disappears and it is invisible now.

mine have got that "clag" look too but i don't reckon data dots stop your bike getting knocked off anyway - tea leaves will steal what's easy to get at.
Dog, chain, alarm & 12gauge works best

hahaha WTF are tea leaves haha .. yer that is ture tho. iv get a dog that his issues and a big shed that is locked up good and proper due to the point there are 5 bikes in there.

save yourself some money and buy it from supercheap auto. they are about $60 cheaper than the bike shops.
each pack can spray about 5 quads no problems. you then register your name on the datadot website with the unique code and if your quad is stolen it is easily identified by using a blue light or "csi" light. they then check the code on the police/datadot register and they call you.

ok i have reng up the bike shop and they said that its just the glue resin (the white glag looking stuff) and i can peel it off and you wont see the dots after that.so there you go
