I went to watch. I arrived just in time to see the end of the littlies last practice session. They had to cut the first half of the track off from the littlies due to the mud. They reentered the track after the stutters. I saw one little fella come off crossing the main straight(they came out of the last corner and cut across the starting gates to get to the stutters). The mud was so deep and soft the he sunk into the mud passed his knees and could not pull his legs out. Looked bloody funny cause he kept falling flat on his face trying to pull his legs out( I'm cruel I know). Remember this happen right in front of the starting gates, so you get an idea of the challenge facing the riders.
Next up was the first race for the quads. Well I wouldn't call it a race, more like a submarine event with a few jumps. Almost every corner that a rider entered they were understeering straight off the track. The skill shown by all the quad riders was outstanding and they should be proud of there efforts. Just to give one example riders were becoming bogged in the corner before the stutters. It was taking them up to 4-5 MINUTES to get themselves out with limited help from the flag marshals(probably didn't want to get muddy). I didn't see one rider clear the step up due to NO traction in or out of the corner before the jump.
