for the rear tyres you want 10x10 rims, which i think only hardiman sell. he can sell you a complete set up including veloce tyres. the rears are 18 x10x10 i think. but the 10 rears are the go.
then fit the veloce tyres with the 10x6 normal fronts.
the sportsmans website says practice is still on, maybe give them a call and see. unfortunately motard hasnt taken off due to the cost of an extra set of wheels and leathers etc etc. let us know how you go... |

does anyone want to have a try at it?
i think it would be a blast!!
come on guys..........
ive seen quads and dirt bikes there with there mx set up eg. no leathers, no armour and on nobbys........... all we have to do is rock up and ride
if i get some veloce tyres you guys that have the same stud pattern can bolt em on and have a try of them |

Hey Joel, let me know if you are going anytime and i will come out for sure as long as you dont need leathers to practice.
Fourtrax, do you know if you are aloud to run normal mx tyres? _________________ What would you know i read it on a forum it must be true ha ha |

I have been out there on a Saturday night when the dirt section is closed. We were still using our dirt tires and were only required to wear body armor. _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

I must admit it rained the day we went out but they still let the quads run. It was like riding on a ice rink, you would be in 5th gear doing 30kph due to wheel spin, awesome fun. So susequently tire wear didnt factor into it. Guys who had done it before basicly said that the harder you went the more tire damage so I guess it depends on your throttle use! _________________ 2012 Polaris RZR XP Turbo

Hi Mildgen
The rear tyres that we, who have raced supermoto would recommend are actually 20 x 10 x 10 and NOT 18 x 10 x 10.
If and when you are ready to buy some then I have a set of rears that you can have for $100 each. I spoke to Craig today and he told me that they have been allowing quad riders to use M.X. clothing ALL year (with body armour) and 'Knobby Tyres". If you can get some other quad riders to give it a go then you should also contact the old regulars like:- Matt Coultar, Sicmic. Mark Mammarella, Ashley Mcinnes, Adrian Wise, Andrew(china) Ledingham,Tony Di Nardo and toby Blackburn to name a few.
If I can be of any assistance to you please let me know and I will do whatever I can to help.

Hi Huge
If you are like me (airbag deployed) slightly on the heavy side and riding a relatively stock 4 stroke then I would recommend using the New 6 ply tyres for their wall stiffness thus eliminating tyre wollowing (roll). If you are on a dry track i would suggest starting with 11-12 psi for non beadlock wheels and 7-8 psi for beadlock wheels and then adjust pressures to suit you after some track time.
If you are on a wet track then you could safely run 3-4 psi lower than dry pressures which will tend to kill a bit of your corner speed but will give you some positive feedback through your handle bars and the seat which will also give you a better chance of grabbing it by the horns if it tries to get away from you

Derek, ill ask Dad to ring you in the next few days about the pod airfilters and the intake boots on the new anshee of ours. I have a hunch you know what to order when it comes to this quad. We dont. And I am really itching to get this one out there. _________________ Mic

hey derek r,
thanks for your help,it is appreciated.
do you know of the guy that runs the motard?
if you do can i have his name and number please?
here is what ive been told from the ladie that answers the phone off the sports man website:
practice is every 1st and 3rd monday of the month
it runs from 4pm to 9pm
$50 for the sesion plus $20 for an MA licence for the day
nerfs and kill switch are prefered but not compulsary
must have body armor if leathers arnt worn
they will run us with 3-4 people min
no nobbys allowed ( to be comfirmed)
we have to let them know if and when we go
with us running there will be 4 different classes, each has about 10 mins track time then they make way for the next class-apperantly this works out to about one session an hour
all that being said i want to speak to the guy that runs the show before any of this is confirmed-i know you can use nobbys for starters and would rather speak to him anyway because he will be there if any issue arises
i will post when ive spoken to the guy in charge. |

sorry guys ive been a bit slack--ive been selling my house and buying another and ive been really busy....
anyways, ive been in contact with the guy that runs the motard and his only consern is saftey. we at least need body armor, along with our nylons.but he would prefer a back protector and elbow guards aswell.
nobbys are fine and he says we will get a whole heap of goes at it
the next days are--nov the 5th and nov the 19th.
when is the best day to suit you guys??
sorry again. joel |
