Just want a run down by any of you guys and gals that have used or come across these boost box's for banshee's, do they really give better fuel economy / better performance ? and do they just slip straight on after you remove that other thing..lol or do ya have to modify something?
Cheers...

hey mate
if your talking about "castrol active 4t" than yer its ok, thats what i use.
i try to change my oil about every 10 hours of riding time give or take 5 id say.

and with the boost box or bottle whatever you wanna call it, it gives you no better fuel ecconomy or proformance just takes up more space. ive heard they have the potential to break the boots but i dont know

i use a motal gear oil,& looked at the gear box after road racing for one year spot on no hard casing no lose on gears

i did use a castrol gear oil same time the year before losed all hard casing on the gears . needed new gear box

so you would think oils are the same .

thanx for replies guys gotta love this forum for noobs like me helps out so much, the gear oil i got in her is motul brand and checked out the clymer service manual thing that tells ya how to fix everything, says gear oil change every 12months in the banshee? is this right? cause been about 40hrs riding now and still looks ok, brought some castrol mtx gear oil sae 75w/80,says castrol MTX is a sae 75w/80 high performance gear oil designed for two-stroke motorcycle gear boxes, for on and off road use and racing application's excellent wear protection, superior performance at high and low temps,MTX is equivalent to an engine oil viscosity of 10w/30,easy low temp shifting, low drag race proven, have ya's heard of this oil and does it sound ok? Doorslammer how much does it cost you to change your trans oil? this stuff cost me bout $9 a bottle (1L) Need 1.7L, this around your price per bottle? or this "profanity removed" gonna tear my gears to shreds? so by the sounds of it we got 1 that changes frequently and other thats about 1 year intervals?

hey

im not sure on the price of the oil i think its about $25 for 4 litres but i dont really have a choice on my oils so i get what i can find if its suitable and change it oftern if its cheap enough. ive never had any metal particals in my oil when i change it just chlutch fibers. from what i undersatnd if you can get the good oil at $9 bux a litre i deff go down that road.

BTW i thought you only needed 1500mL of oil, thats what it says on my clutch cover, but my bike is aslo bone stock

Just checked mine now that you mentioned that!(1500mL) says that on mine also mate, in the service / maintenance book i got 1987 to 2004 banshee's it says:
Oil Change 1.5L
Total Amount 1.7L
(engine rebuild)

exactly how i have written it, so im guessing that 1500 for general change and 1700 after rebuild?

Forgot to mention also says: Once a year replace clutch/transmission oil lubricant and harder than normal use exposure to mud water sand high humidity etc will require more frequent attention.

Rule of thumb ... you can never change oils too often. It is better to rather change the oils more often that not enough!
