G'Day, Just Joined the site 2day and already have a question for yous, Looking at getting some paddle tyres for my Banshee, The Kawasaki shop in Newcastle has a set of Kenda Traka paddles 20x12-10 which i am told are good sand tyres which allows you to still turn cause they are kinda V shaped not like the straight across jobs which "apparently" Hinda your turning and more for straight runs? But Kenda dont make the traka in a 9" rim which are standard on my banshee i am told? Know i have to buy another set of rims anyway for the paddles but am unsure weather i can get 10" rims to fit the banshee stud pattern? any help on getting good paddle tyres and rims plus were to order from would be much appreciated...thanx

just a word of advice do not get kenda trakkers for a banshee they are no good i ran them for one ride on my banshee and found they get horrible traction so i put itp sand stars on an they are excellent but i heard the kenda geckos arn't too bad aswell and i would go for a 9 inch rim aswell ps they do make kenda trakkers to suit a 9inch rim aswell

Suggest ITP Sandstars if you want good all round turning and hookup in the sand . Kenda Gheckos are useless, if u have tried them , then gone to ITP's u would never go back to the gheko's.

Banshee puts out to much power for the gheckos to do anything but bury the bike. Also makes it hard to turn.

Just my opinion. Smile

Well For everyone in Newcastle looking for paddle tyres for atv i highly recommend not going to Frasier motorcycles as they quoted Kenda Geckos and ITP paddles at $190 each!!! A Business down in Vic sell Kenda Sand Geckos and Traka For $110 each and $45 For Post(For Both), And ITP For $145 each(http://www.southernquads.com.au/sand_tyres.htm)......And Steven Clark at Saly Bay Can Do Kings KT-177 For $113 each but is straight paddle not V shaped, and Maxxis Rooster for $190 each!!! These are ment to be Very Good They Say? any ways whats ya thoughts??? Cheers

Mick....

If u could afford to spring for the 10' rims and then put the 10' ITP sandstars on u would have a much better footprint too work with. 10" are less depth in the tyre wall ( lighter) and give a considerably bigger "footprint" than a 9' would. The bigger footprint allows u to ride on top of the sand instead of digging your way to china as a 9' does in comparison.

This is especially true with the 9' Kenda ghecko. Although u cannot get the gkecko in a 10' tyre anyway.

for $35 bucks more there is no comparison in my opinion.

Take one wheel off , remove the nut on the end of that hub, pull the hub off and replace it back on the spline a few groves around so that when u put the wheel back on it lines up with the other paddle.

Then do up hub , replace wheel and hang on ....
