| Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on the green machine. Thinking seriously about buying one, will mainly be used trail riding, some moto x and possibly flat track. |

MX and Flat ... it is a very good quad!!! Outrides, I have heard it is a little too hard. Unless you like it hard ... But I beleive that as a total package, it is second only to the DS 450 at the moment!!
Personally, I would wait for the KTM ... _________________ Mikey got 3rd in the Nationals!!

| Rode an LTR bout 12 months ago and was quite impressed but was told if i put 20" rears on for better ground clearance (trailriding) it would struggle to pull top gear. |

| I think it is safe to say that any 450 you get now is a far better quad then say 2 years ago what was on offer.... |

Seems to have gotten off track doesn't it I guess the guys on the forum are all biased towards their own rides. Maybe give one of the kawasaki forums a look, they may be able to help you with performance comparisons over the range of 450's available.
As for me, I bought my quad for the look first and the performance second (still a poser at 42 ). If I had to buy another one it'd be the KFX, the colors are the duck nuts. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

Seems the best advice we give here will apply there ...
Which bike is best ... ?
Decide a budget ... decide what it is you want (400, 450 etc)
Then test ride them all!! See which is the most comfortable for you, and what prices you can get. I see the industry is pritty much the same here as there ... you get free kit ... or cash back ... take the kit. See what the dealers will throw in!!
That is basically that ... you can buy any quad you like, as long as it is a Raptor ... _________________ Mikey got 3rd in the Nationals!!

I've only bought 4 quads from entry level to MX & they have all been great. Each time I get a newer model they are even better.
I haven't ridden with anyone who doesn't think their quad is great.
I don't reckon you can go wrong.
Just look how all these blokes wrap up their own rides and some of them aren't even riding SUZUKIS.
Get it & ride it. You will be pleased.
Cheers

| it seems most of the opions are from people that dont own one i do and the only thing i can fault is a very hard seat but i fixed that with a new softer one from quad tech in the states it has sh@# loads of power and is very stable great for huge power slides i am leaving for a 3 day ride in two weeks i will let you know what i think after my arse has been in the seat for three days straight |

Hey tapped out, a friend got a KFX 450 as soon as they came out and apart from the recall for fuel tank and oil/coolant leaks all repaired under warranty he swears it is an amazing ride - told me that as he was dropping back to the dealer to find out why his coolant level was dropping again.
Good warranty support though and oil/coolant leaks may have been introduced by bad tool work on tank replacement (squashed hose).
All current 450s are capable of doing what you want out of the box - YFZ very user friendly in all environments - LTR very good mx racer without spending on mods - Honda very competitive racer after mods - BRP & KTM built with focus on track racing - KFX will prove to be competitive as more are sold.
If you like it buy it you won't be disappointed with power & suspension! _________________ Raptor 700 |

I,d look at where you ride and what sort of mechanics you got around you. I have been on one of yor rides and seen the amount of orange that you are surrounded by, so i'd be seriously looking at the KTM powered Polaris Outlaw, 2008 will see a straight axle Outlaw 525 as well as the IRS version so you got a choice of either. I personally ride the IRS and love it , it's got heaps of power and handles sweet, it weighs 180ish but i think the straight axle is only 165kg. _________________ say NO! to ball sports |

Does orange means predator thats so the local dealer can aford to race his LTR - maybe polaris have best dealer kickbacks around?
Boils down to personal preference & budget when buying quads. _________________ Raptor 700 |
