We just striped our banshee down & 2 packed all the frame & bolt on metal parts & replaced the axle & wheel bearings & seals. We replaced all the non high tensile bolts & screws with stainless. Didn't touch the motor. We were surprised how easy it was to put back together. Just bolted it all back together & kicked it over. No adjustments required. Only had to go over it & check tension on bolts after a ride.
The 2 pack holds on pretty well. Probably better than powder coat.
If you have got a spray, gun give it a go. It was easy.

not realy sure how much our paint job cost on the Banshee. I used silver for the frame, red for A-arms, swingarm & heat shields & black for all the brackets, pegs & steering stem etc. All in full gloss 2 pack.
Filed the pegs with a square file to smarten up the grip as well.
I buffed the rust on the frame & beed blasted the A-arms & swingarm. Couldn't get into the corners on those parts.
500ml each of red, black & silver cost about $75 I think.
1 litre of hardener was about $60. (heaps left over. It will keep if you keep the air from it by filling the tin with glass marbles.)
A preasure pack of primer & a litre of thinners.
I used Autothane brand.
It was my first go at 2 pack & it glossed up real nice.
It was that impressive that we recently stripped did a freshen up on all the bolt on bits on our 450. A-arms, bumper, grab bar & all brackets & footpegs, even the tie rods. Looks prety sweet with black trim.
The bearings & seals we mainly got from bearing shops.
It probably cost 350 to 400 all up but it looks prety respectable now.
Happy painting

Something else. We didn't buy one of those bolt replacement packs. We just went to a couple of bolt shops & bought what we needed in stainless. I don't know how the economics stack up on the comparison.

I would be ... it can be straighetened ... but they should have told you it was buggered!
I guess it all depends on how it was sold (eg "as is"), and what you paid. _________________ Mikey got 3rd in the Nationals!!

I would make sure the frame is bent. Take it to an engineer. Get a report, along with the cost estermaite ...
Before contacting them, decide if you want to keep it or not ... If not, give them a call and tell the old owner your problem ... _________________ Mikey got 3rd in the Nationals!!

Anything can be fixed. It just comes down to cost.
Sounds like a good project. _________________ 06 LTZ400
