have a rev max advantage performance cdi in a 450 yfz im working on for a bloke makes the motor like miss, std cdi will not do this whots wrong duz the motor need rejeting or is the cdi stuffed thank you.

hi there be cearfel with sume after market boxs yfz and the yzf 450 run a lot of advance all redy cause of there 5 valve set up if you rember the yzf 426 and haw hard thay where to start thay need alot of advance to get the fier started thay dont have the best combustion chamber shape (quote from yamaha school) .check the tps voltage. sumtimes when u change the tci box it needs to be re set and if thats ok and its wired up ok
check that the kill switch is ok .unplug it turn it off and make shore theres 0 ohms across it in the off posion (been cort be for with this ) if thats ok check pick up resistenc and statour resistecn if thats ok its the tci box that you have bought

Try running it with one headlight on i;e; some current draw on the system. Early models have this fault, usually only with the std CDI box, but my sons YFZ does the same with a Vortex unit. Anyway doesnt take much to try that one.
