| Just wondering if anyone had heard anything on 2007 Yamaha's. A mate just put a deposit on a 07 RAPTOR and was told the release date was this week? Sounds way early too me, considering the norm for latest models is August-September period. |

looks like they are trying injection on the raptor!.What do you reckon JB is the Raptor a possible contender. _________________ TCW/Schweppes |

fuel injection is for pussies, go old school and get a 2-stroke.
after all, 4 strokes are 2 strokes too many.... |

| Ahh the essence of youth ! Yeah i spose they 2stroke is good for a quick ride and a bit of a buzz, but with age, I guess i enjoy a good hard thumping 4 banger for a bit more endurance . "Injection is for pussies" Mayybe injection is similar to viagra for a bike i reckon it'll go harder for longer.Convinced yet?. |

New Raptor looks sick as and yeah mate looks like one might be on the cards. Wanting to do a bit more trail riding so would certainly suit better, plus most of the YFZ gear is transferable. |

| "686cc of fuel injected power". Must be trying it out on the raptor first for a bit of feedback i presume. Fair chance it will be on the 450 in 08 is my guess, if not then it will only be a matter of time. |

Fuel Injection has been on the rap 700 since last year.
I'm tipping it will be on the 08 450's as they will be due an update by then. _________________

| Oh righto! I did not know that . Eventually it will be standard same as cars i reckon . How about independant rear suspension?, any mx models considering this do you know. I guess this would require a differential type setup but would be the next revolution in design. |

That would give it alot of body roll in corners. But it would be awsum for trails. _________________ Mic

Im prob not he one to give an oppinion as i havent had a ride of one. Talking to Kev it seems to handle pretty well maybe check out Polaris web site or something. _________________ Back off for a second and thats where youll finish |

I might do that. Curious to see if the concept is positive. Even a small amount of extra travel would have to be smoother than the rigid axle, like Sicmic said body roll is the negative reaction so I guess if they work on polaris other manufacturers would follow. The best way to tell would be to testride a polaris i spose [non endorsed comment] . |

theres a right up on the polaris outlaw vs the raptor in the latest dirtwheels mag from the states.
puts the outlaw through all styles of riding.
As from mx dont think the IRS would good for getting the holeshot, and turning would be more difficult.
But for the trails it would be awesome over ruff terrain.
And black plastics always look good..
just my 2 cents worth.. _________________ Sold -06 ltr450

You are probably right they may be better for trails than mx. I'll just have to try going faster to get over the rough stough quicker by the sound of it. _________________ TCW/Schweppes |

I'd like to see an independant rear end that wasn't double a'arm but 2 trailing arms (like a trophy truck) which give much more high speed stability. _________________
