 |
|
I was wondering if you guys could help me out. A mate of mine has a 700 Rappy and he wired in a prodesign kill switch to the coil and when it earthed out it blew the computer.
Can anyone give me the lowdown on how to wire one in Safely. A picture of the connections would be nice. Failing that a good description of where to hook in the wires, what colour wires to hook into, etc...

| You can do it a few ways. You could "make or break" the trigger wires for the ignition, this is a pair of wires coming up from the stator. Or you can add the switch to the kill wires in the left hand switch block ( this is more common ) depending on whether its a kill that shorts to earth or a live power connection as to which type of kill you use. We are Yamaha dealers, so if you want I can check our service books and give you the colours and what switch to use. You definetly dont connect to the CDI output to the coil, as youve discovered, it usually frys the CDI |

Rappy
Bike is going great guns mate, thanks for asking.
Just did an hour on the MX track this evening in an attempt to get myself fit for the Fink. The more I push it the better it feels! Happy as a pig in poo.
I've got to ask though, what caused the dent in the exhaust pipe? and did you end up getting that kart?
Wadey
thanks for the info mate, we're a little gun shy about hooking up another one after our first go. Particularly so close to the Fink. I would appreciate it if your were able to find out the correct colour
Nice looking blaster by the way
Regards

Damm straight Smiffy!
Due to work commitments I'm flying in on Friday, My quad will already be up there. but I'll be at the after party, you can bank on that one.
I think I'm looking forward to the piss up as much as the event itself... _________________ State governments give us REC rego + area to ride ATVs legaly! underneth the muffler about half way along closer to the chain side. dosent bother me just curious sall.....
After so long on the YFZ, I am enjoying the Zook. As Smiffy was saying the harder you ride it the better the shocks feel, I'd have to say I aggree with him. Last year, I spent a bit of time on a new Zook on the track Ive been on tonight. That suspension seemed very harsh back then, this one feels good. I rate the seat as well.
nice way to get me off topic on my own friggin thread fellas, sheesh _________________ State governments give us REC rego + area to ride ATVs legaly! I can't belive your getting there so late!!! Your missing out on half the fun. The week leading up to the race is a riot. Do you know that you have to be signed in by Thursday?
The trick the the LT-R stock shocks is getting the rebound just right and it's a very fine line too. Don't be afraid to have a play with the cilckers _________________ Smitty |

bump
fellas
which wire from the stator can I earth safetly?
There is about four comming from out of the engine case, one white and a few blue ones.
I looked at the on off switch on the handlebars but that is connected when the bike is running and the prodesign killswitch works the opposite way around?
