so when trying to crank over the banshee im getting a weird noise from the left side. has been fine until recently.

Bike is new (10hrs) and has just had pipes/filters done and re-jetted to suit
- 340 main
- 30 pilot
- CPI pipes (loud as fark)
- twin 2 stage uni filters straight of the carbs (all air box gear removed)
- TORS system has also just been removed as has the park brake gear
(running a touch rich as i ride dunes/trail)

the sound is more like the crank is running a positive pressure but doesnt seem to be there when the bike is running (or i just cant hear it). was not there prior to this and the bike as yet to be run with the new gear on it other than idle and a small idle cruise back and forth.

any opinions on what this could be?? ill try get a vid up tomorrow to see if you can help point it out.

Are you sure it is not just more noise from the pipes? The engine does seem to be noiser with aftermarket pipes and The stock pipes have so much "profanity removed" in them to muffle some noise.

In another note I think you might be rich with your mods, I have similar mods and are only running 290 or 300 mains( can't remember:( and 27.5 pilots. And it has run perfect for 2 years.

Please note my jetting works for mine it might not work for yours!!!

im dare say im way rich on the main (at a guess). i should prob be around the 310 mark. 2nd clip on the needle currently. im yet to take it anywhere and open it to gauge how over rich i am (if at all) but i want it a size up on perfect for dune riding.

30 pilot seems to be perfect where it is on 1/4 throttle. Better than it ever was in stock form. actually can cruise nicely around my complex shaking windows and annoying the neighbors. pods cause it to breath extremely heavy which could be the cause.

the issue at hand tho def isnt jetting its just a weird noise when trying to crank it over. damn hard to explain. Sad

noise seems to be from just breathing heavy with the PODS directly on the carbs. If i install the airbox the noise goes away so im not too concerned. noise only showed once i installed the pods and removed tors (was done at the same time)

i have ridden the bike a few times with no issues and making plenty of power. I hit the beach last weekend and gave it a good belting aswell (apart from a sticky throttle) all was good so will take the carbs and what not off over the next day or two and confirm and check everything to make sure

this was last week finishing of the jetting

Start the motor with the pods off and with it idling touch the back of each slide in the carb, I think it's the slide slapping forward and back in the carb body. This is normal.
