What's a tist? It's mentioned in their video a few times but I have no idea what a tist is.
I thought the reason for most quad injuries is not using common sense which apparently is not so common.

But his "product" can be and should viewed by quad riders that don't need such a product because we ride safely and while accidents do happen we trained and ride with in our ability's oh and don't over load quads and ride across hills, oh and our quads are MAINTAINED and we use HELMETS... and all manner of safety gear, a shame those dead farmers never thought to use a helmet and these types of products give farmers even more reasons NOT WEAR A HELMET.

Any body here game to bolt one of these "products" to their quad to test one. maybe this crowd should let real quad riders test it out, oh but we don't crash like farmers do, now do we.
And why in the their site, a pic a of a farmer wearing a hard hat ? why no helmet and why and how did he flip it on a flat paddock, this rider should be wrapped in foam and not let near a knife and fork for Gods sake if he cant ride a flat paddock with out rolling over...

Hi Matthew, and welcome to the forum.

Matthew, I don't like to discourage people from making an honest dollar.

I've looked at your web site, thoroughly.

Just some constructive criticism.

The still shots are badly stage managed.
To end up in that position, is remotely likely to happen in any other situation than a stage managed photo shoot.
If your going to put up a photo for demonstration purposes, real is better.
Oh yes, quad riding is dirty. The guy in that looks like he just came out of the office, put his helmet on and laid down, and someone else rolled the bike on him. For goodness sake, at least put the bike and rider in a real direction of travel and relative to one another!

Oh yes. The video.
The immaculate Honda certainly looks spectacular tumbling down that cliff. (That clean thing again.)Your product absorbing the bumps and knocks.
Bike still looks fabulous after that, as does your product.
Uhmm, in such a scenario, I'd suggest the cliff would have likely created significant injuries to a rider, who was not shown.
(Yeah, we know that crash test dummies are expensive, and no one in their right mind would volunteer to demonstrate.)
Err, and I'd just like to mention that very few riders in such an incident would actually stick with the ride, short of being tied to it. Which I'm sure you'd agree does not work for the dynamic riding style of a quad bike.

And Anti Crush Devices FOR QUAD BIKES do not have design standards meeting Australian Standards. Because there is not any.
They should not be even remotely linked to ROPS. Which do not have standards for quad bikes either, but do for just about everything else.

This link will show you the ONLY approved ROPS for recreational off highway vehicles in the country, being tested the same as shown in your video.
(Yeah, someone else pushed a machine off a cliff to prove some things.)

The ROPS is built in, not added on btw.

Of significant concern to safety groups, is the potential miss-use of devices such as yours to be used as a means of carrying additional weight. The effects of raising the centre of gravity in such a manner are clearly understood.
As such, I can't really condone such suggestions as made by your website.

Also, it is a lot of money, at over a grand.

Not wrong mate.
I'm entirely over idealists, academics and ideas people, who obviously do not ride quads coming up with "solutions" for recreational quad riders.

For those less enlightened, and so uptight about us, the recreational riders, I'll offer the following:
We are over 80% of the actual users, regardless of what figures are touted as correct, we are the 4 out of 5 riders out there.
We do not have a governing body.
We do not have a govt that gets this. (Except Tassie. They've got it wired.)
Yet, despite us being a self regulated, dis organised, bunch of over 200 thousand across the country, having few places to legally ride, somehow we wear enclosed footwear, DOT approved helmets, appropiate riding apparel and other PPE, all by ourselves.
We cover more disciplines of our sport than most critics can comprehend.
We maintain our bikes, including tyre pressures.
We upgrade our bikes with bits to make them go, stop and turn better.

In short, we know more about us than any one or any group out there.
So maybe "they" should ask instead of telling!

Hollywood Movie Stunt!

We are out next week filming a whole series of videos, so please keep your eyes and ears open for episode two!

Happy to provide an ATV Lifeguard as sample for anyone who is " tempted"
in provide some extra safety, when using an ATV.

I have been riding farm bikes since 1978 ,and many quads thereafter, the rest of our design and management tea
m have been involved in farming, bikes, quads, since early 70's, no city folk here trying to make a quick buck!

The preferred term is OHV, as in Off Highway Vehicle.
The term ATV, as in all terrain vehicle, is as misleading as it is popular.
Glad to hear that you and your team have some experience.
I look forward to seeing some real videos, and trust that the constructive criticism asked for from the recreational users is utilised.
