hi everyone sorry if i am duplicating an old topic but i am a newby and would like to know if anyone has approached the victorian government personally or as a group e.g. motorcycling victoria or club or other lobby group to change there out dated ideas.
i am only a new victorian and find the attitude of the government in victoria hostile toward us quad riders i wish we had policy like the, dare i say it the tasmainians or queenslanders about recreational registrations
personally find there stance a bit discriminative and has anyone attempted to try a case in the equal opportunity commission we have rights too
some of our bikes are more advanced and modern than some of our brothers on the road just that we have 4 wheels rather than two
i am in north east victoria and would love to find a legal place to ride and explore our magnificent area on the quad, but don't know the implications
everytime i ask a question of a department i get told very little and get the hurry up I'm busy attitude
something needs to be done _________________ God,family and quads |

The only way you can ride quads "legally" in this state, is on private land, on permitted ride days, as a member of a motorcycle club.
Our club offers racing and social riding in as many areas as we can find permission to do so. Please check out our website.
As for rec reg, Yogie is right, it's unlikely it will ever happen. One of our past members was a Victorian Police officer who along with a team of lawyers battled VicRoads & the Vic Government for close to 10 years to see things change for the better. They got nowhere. _________________ The Quad Riders Club Victoria Inc. is a family-friendly club for Victorian ATV enthusiasts; running motocross, enduros, trail rides, and social events.

Don't take it too personally. The Victorian Government hates everyone equally, not just quad riders! Gays, working mothers, the elderly, etc, etc, etc.
If you are not a white middle-aged male white-collar anglican with connections within the state government or favoured big businesses, forget it, your interests don't matter!

thanks guys and gals the thread showed me that there is a slim chance that things might change if we all have a voice but that was posted about 4 years ago what has happened since then i think that he was right the timing and organising is important if we want results we we need to get them at election time and get the media involved i am sure we have some people that know media people personally i know a local news crew that could cover stuff we need to advertise but i don't want to do this alone
as for the qrcv club my family are thinking about joining even spoke to a lady there about coming to a meeting as i might be able to organise a ride on a property in the north east just a family fun camp and ride not a comp on a mates place but unsure how to start have a renegade 800 and the wife and sons share two warrior 350's the poor rene doesn't get much of a run as we only have s small place _________________ God,family and quads |

Which only goes to say one thing, common sense is not all that common, nowhere.
Thought of the term, lobbying?
Vic election in 2014, who is going to support ATV's in general and usage everywhere? _________________ www.asho.com.au for your shooting and outdoor needs
