It covers you and other people. Check out the PDF link below
| Quote: | By law, both restricted and full vehicle registration include third party personal injury insurance through the MAIB. If your vehicle is not insured, and you are injured in an accident, you will not be eligible for MAIB benefits such as medical expenses, or disability allowance for time off work. And if you’re found to be negligent, you may also be liable for damages paid to
other injured persons such as passengers and pedestrians. If things go wrong, without third party personal injury insurance, you risk being in debt for the rest of your life.
Even if your vehicle is used on private land only, MAIB cover is strongly recommended to protect your liability and be eligible for MAIB benefits. MAIB premiums are payable at any Service Tasmania Shop. |

What duneblazer said.
I regoed my bike for the first time just before new years.
You need a proof of purchase with a signature from previous seller and contact details, and tell them want access to ride all over the state. Fill out some forms and hand em over.. takes about 15mins. Easy as that. they check your drivers license, charge you through the arse then give you your plates, and your off on your merry way |
