Hi,
I ridea a Honda TRX450R, and if Honda made a 50 thats what i would buy my son! I know wvery one has there favourites and i appreciate that.
What I have no knowledge on is the 50cc quads.
Im looking to buy my 4 yr old a 50cc, looking at a Suzuki LTZ, Polaris outlaw or Yamaha Raptor.
I believe you cant buy the 50 raptor brand new any more.
I would actually prefer one 2 years old or so but also willing to buy a new one.
Does any one have any recommendations, good or bad experiences with these or give me some reccomendations or pros and cons of each model?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

| I got my lad a suzuki lt 50, I had to put a after macket cdi unit in it and take out the restricter behide the clutch cos of the shelf he could ride it flat out on the limiter from word go (which was not vary fast). After these mods its has been a great bike and have had no troubles. |

The raptor 50 is the same size as the 90cc.
I bought my son one and he has just turned 4.
He rides ok but it is still to big for him but he is small for a 4yo.
I do like the limiters on it though you can slow it down to a walking pace.
I also bought my son a 2 wheeler a honda crf50 and he has the most fun on that all we did was add a set of training wheels.
My 9yo son mainly rides the raptor now.
For value for money I would buy the 90cc raptor because it will last him until he is 10yo |

Yeah I tried him on a Suzuki 90 and he couldnt touch the pegs.
I wonder if the raptor 90 is any smaller then Suzuki 90?
Honda TRX 70 would be perfect, i know a bloke who has one too,but he never sells anything!!!
Wonder if its the same JOE blow!

I got my 3year old a suzuki 50 2 stroke. It is the rigide frame and it has a problem with rolling over. I put the wheel spacers on and it got better (I thought) but last weekend he rolled it again. Not hurt but it trashes their confidents and he hasn't asked to ride it since. My 6 year old daughter has the polaris preditor 50. it is a heaps better bike than the suzuki rigid frame model. It goes heaps quicker has foot wells to protect their feet, but the main thing I like about Polaris is that the front wheels are angled so it reduces the likelyhood of rolling. I ride the polaris myself (90kg's) and it goes fine with me on it and I have to push it real hard to get it to even think of rolling. Not sure about the raptor but i would stick with the Polaris for those ressons and they are doing great deals at the moment, brand new 50 $1995.00. Thats down $400.00 from last year. cheers _________________ Rusty99 |

I am not really sure. We have the preditor and it is a 2001 model and hasn't given us any problems. I just assumed that they changed the name to outlaw when the 500cc preditor got changed to the outlaw. I did ask a guy on ebay who had one of each for sale once and he said there was no difference between the two. The dealer would be able to let you know, but I am fairly sure they only make the outlaw now.
One thing to keep in mind is you wont a bike with a backup kick/pull start as those little batteries dont hold much charge when they are sitting around. I just kick start the preditor as the battery is always flat. cheers _________________ Rusty99 |
