Hey guys.
Just wondering if I could get some info on choosing a pair of flexx bars.
With all the different offsets etc.... I am a bit confused.
did notice they had "atv" labelled models 14 & 15 degrees offset and high and low height options I think.... anyway Can I get some basic advice on this please.
P.S. I would more than likely be fitting them to a plus 2 stem.
Thanks guys... any input would be appreciated. _________________ Consistency..... The last refuge for the unimagenative. |

All depends on what and how you ride, its really just personal preference.
ATV bars i believe have more room to fit items on the bars ie middle is narrower. degrees is the bend back towards the rider. Hi and low bend is the height difference between the head stem and the bars. Ive had mine for over 4 years they are 12 degree high bars |

I like 12 degree bars for MX but usually run 14 degree for off road / enduro on the 800's.
Like Froggy said, it mostly depends on personal preference.
To generalise, if it helps, if you are broader across the shoulders your arms run straighter to the bars and a lesser angle might suit better... 10 or 12 degree.
If you are narrower across the shoulders the 15 degree bends point more at your body and you might find them more comfortable.
MrsB runs 15 degree Flexx bars for MX and enduro.
Most STD bars are closer to the 15 degree end of the scale too.
If you find your +2 stem feels a bit high... grab the 'low' bars.
If you go 'high' on a +2 stem you could also find that you are running out of cable length (throttle, clutch, wiring etc)
I tried 10 degree bars on the 800 Outlander and did not like them because the flatter shape meant that when on the gas all the time, my hands tended to ride hard up against the switch block and throttle housing which caused blistering etc.
I switched to the 14 degree, and the extra angle meant my hands tended to slip more outward and stay comfortably in the middle of the grip.
So as said... it can depend on how you ride too.
If you love what is on your bike now... ask Adam what bend is closest to what you've got.

I just put a set on my LTR as the bars felt like they needed to come up and back towards me. (Im short and fat). Im mainly planning on social hacking about, ponies and enduros. No MX.
I got the advice of Mike from quadparts and ended up with a 2" riser and Quadracer 15 Degree Bars. Feels Perfect now when sitting on it.. Yet to use them in anger though. |

Sorry for hijacking this thread.........so what flex bars are people running on raptor 700s I hear of problems with certain bends hitting the tank.
Also do they come in 7/8 or do I have to buy a new stem.
I've searched everywhere and can't find an answer.
I'm going to buy a set at tax time. |

I have 14 degree lows on mine but have a +1 houser stem and anti vibe clamps. Get a set of oversize clamps to sit on top of your stock stem. This will lift the bars and also suit the 1 1/8" diametre of the Flexx. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |
