Thank you for your email about reports that the Government was planning to ban bull bars.
These reports are not correct.
Thank you for raising this matter.
Yours sincerely

That's it, when an offroad comunity bands together and becomes a majority it's amazing what can be achieved! There was a thread ont the www.outerlimits forum about it, the same thing happened when they tried o bring in abother thing that affected 4x4 owners greatly, everyone banded together and beat it!!!
The problem with quads is unlike the fourby guys we don't have the bonus of having a national media source like 4wd Action mag to kick up a stink and get everyone who reads to email parliment members or sign petitions.... _________________ Finke virgin for 2011.....

Yes, I got the same response.
The 4WD Action mag keeps an eye on stupid government decisions.
Very well organised lobbying.
The big players in the game, like the American importers should organise similar actions for quads.
The aim should be recreational rego for us.

While we do not currently have a "atv or ORV " magazine, believe me when I relay that the two big American manufacturers are supportive of our rec rego efforts. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

Sorry John, a canadian manufacturer bailed out by their taxpayers manufacturing out of Mexico, it gets a bit confusing.....
Could we agree on North American Continental manufacturers? _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

A little off topic, but has there ever been an attempt to start an austalian based quaD specific magazine?
Even if it was produced every 3 months, 4 a year! surely there would be enough material to be pit into it with quad and gear reviews, events (even if a social ride was covered!
Only problem is it would need someone who believes it can work and continue to work with a bit of money so there can be a good media push when first released...
Just wondering..... _________________ Finke virgin for 2011.....

This question annoys me a little. We had an Australian ATV magazine, and it was bloody good too. But too many people just bagged it out for reasons not entirely clear, and gave very little support to the team that were putting it together. The biggest gripe I had about that whole deal was that many users in this forum did nothing but run the magazine down. So a magazine did nothing for us only because, as a group we couldn't even get behind our very own Australian ATV mag. Bloody shame if you ask me.
But thats history now, and the future is online media anyway. Forums like this is where the ground swell is. We just need to pressure our governments. The next local election is a good place to start. FInd out which candidate will support the ATV community and put your vote there. WA actually has a political group that is putting the off road case forward. Join up if your in WA. _________________ State governments give us REC rego + area to ride ATVs legaly! Enough negative stuff has been covered. Any links you may have for the WA political group you mentioned? _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.

These guys are doing great work in WA, if any of you guys are remotely interested in maintaining ATV riding as a sustainable pastime. Get behind them. _________________ State governments give us REC rego + area to ride ATVs legaly! State Status: VIC-No (Nazi's) QLD-Yes(no place to ride tho) NT-? NSW-Yes, Stockton. it failed due to not making enough money, because the lazy ad guys didn't do anything but drink coffee all day and focus on ADB. _________________ 2012 sponsors, Working on it. |
