Hey guys,
Just looking for thoughts/ ideas on having an enduro/ trailride on a property in CQ (near miriam vale/ turkey beach)
as at this stage we don't have anything like this
happening in our area, and have the chance to possibly utilize one of two propertys the Gladstone moto club has on access to....
At This stage they do an event called Clarkies Lowmead Reload, which is a family friendly weekend of riding, the tracks they usually mark are usually around a 30km loop, butni think I could get a fair few more km's in for
the quads!
The club has already set up a shed and a toilet/ shower block. And camping is on lush green grass beside a lake.
I'm going to be getting in cotact with them as they know property and tracks really well and will look into organising a future date for
us quad riders! It wouldn't be racing for sheep stations but the first time round would be a good way to
guage if we can make it grow and also become an annual event on everyones calender!
As I find out more I will let you guys know, but please put up
all the do's and dont's you guys have stumbled accross in the past when trying to organise something like this!

Righto mate no worries,
i may be heading down to the property on saturday so will have a talk with the owner while im down there doing a bit of fourbying,
but would you guys mind if the first event was more a fun event? with no reall placings, just ride when you feel like it park up have a chat then do another lap? or do we want to push for a full blown race straight away?
i personally believe a family friendly event would be a good place to start,

I would be keen. Why dont you get a few of us up for a recce and then decide on an event. How far is it from Brisbane?

its about a 5 1/2 hour drive from brissy to the property,
but yeah that would be a good idea! ill have to get down and see Clarkey and also have a chat to the motorbike club,
but at this stage anyone can go there and for a few dollars in the honesty box can, camp, ride and 4x4 only problem is not many tracks exist as of yet, so will have to look into doing some clearin and marking

At least 4 of us here at Agnes that would be up for that....been to Clarkeys a few times on bikes and for the Lowmead reloaded ride and always wondered why they didnt have a loop for quads? If you need a hand marking out/setting up tracks let me know only about 1/2 hr away.
That grass air strip there would be great for quad drags as spectators/non riders would have some great entertainment watching quads drag down the strip.

Yeah mate, cheers, hopefully we can get a quad class organized for this years lowmead reloaded!!
And have you ever been on the car rally track? It's down the same end of property as the airstrip, it could easily accomodatr 4 or 5 quads at a time for sprint lap racing! We were 3 fourbies at a time around the track for the last lowmead 4x4 event

No dont think so.....have'nt been there for a while, is it an oval track or something? Been on a couple of tracks down that end on the quad....powerline track ect.

Not on quads but this is a few photo's from lowmead, the 4x4 pics are from the Lowmead 3 car comp, mine is the big grey rig.
Rainforest section, is heaps of little in and outs of these creeks!!
This area is right near the large shed where the food stalls get set up...
The flat track section.... imagine how much fun youd have on the quads on thsi track!!

Just trying to give others an idea of the property, but yep, definately will be a good part! I think it would work well if that was made a part of a longer course!

Nah mate, ended up wearing in a short track out at a local property, im chasing up dozers number from the glady moto club, as i already know clarkey will be cool with it but just dont want to be taking over the clubs property, if all goes well hopefully we will see the inclusion of quads in this years lowmead reloaded ride!!
