hey guys (and girls)

just bought a ltr450, i've riding it for 15 mins max.. noticed a couple of things that worry me.

1..
was riding for 10 mins and the fans are coming on,wasn't riding it hard-
is this normal?

2..

it miss fired a couple of times- when i tried getting under it a bit,,
is this normal? what could be causin this?

is it something to worry about?

i'm gonna take it out tomorrow and see how it goes on the dirt..

all opinions would be appreciated..

thanks lez

check to make sure spark plug is properly connected to the plug comin from the coil, ie, clean and is firm on the top of the plug, and the fans i would imagine would come on, i havent really noticed how often they do this on mine, but perhaps check the coolant leval, mine was a little low.

while your there might aswell check to make sure that all your little plugs are properly connected to, give it a good once over just for piece of mind.

cheers, ryan

the review i read in the aussie atv mag said the fan came on quite often on there test rig as well so it sounds like a normal thing. If ya worried just get a temp sensor to check its in the ballpark temp. just to keep your mind at ease

bit pissed about how thin the paint is on the frame and theres no base coat, rode it for 20 mins and where my boots run there wasnt any paint left.. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

now that i got that out lol
bike kept missfiring when i got under it not all the time, but enough to get on me nerves.

fittled withthe rev advancer didnt do a thing..

rang the shop to c if they touched it in any way, tuning wise ..

shop: nahh all we did was put it together and take out the BAFFLE !!!!!
me: what did you do that for?
shop: it was to quiet, so we took it out

so think it might been running lean... i told him to find the affle and send it out to me with my cherry bomb, that way i'll put it in and see if thaats the problem..

I read on a US forum that if you pull the baffle out and not have the cherry bomb fitted it will run lean.

Your bike should have been supplied with a Cherry Bomb. Mine was. It didnt come in untill a few days after I took delivery of the bike. The cherry bomb install rules say to remove the butt plug and the air box lid. The difference in the bike was night and day.

I don't think the are supplied I think you have to purches one. But do not run your bike without one if you have removed the air box lid and cork out of the pipe it will run lean

arent these things fuel injected? if so, shouldnt the computer compensate for the increased air intake by taking the lid off?

you'll be safe to ride it DC666 just dont get stuck into it to hard (long WOT runs or anything). running lean will be contributing to the heat factor on a quad that already runs pretty hot.
