thanks lads , everything waits for the approval of us getting permits and under what conditions, but i am under control at the moment, but it would be good if we can put in our locations , that way we can call on people in those areas for help if needed.

Clearly if this is going to go ALL THE WAY AROUND it is going to take a massive effort to get from Adelaide to Perth to Darwin back to QLD.
You may need to have a few of the longer stretches done by trailer or truck. _________________ Cheers,

well folks a thought has come to mind of a fellow member which i have to take into concideration,
Rather than going all the way around Australia it was mentioned that we all meet in The Capital being on a certain date Canberra
IE: [Parliment House ]so the riders from Qld ,NSW, VIC, SA, TAS, WA, NT, get sponsors and travel from their home state personally i think it is a great idea In regards to the guys from WA they could bring a batton from there state as would someone from each other state,by doing it this way riders would not have to take as much time out of their working situation, talking about sponsers and raising money for the cause ,
The donation site is as follows
www.everydayhero.com.au/quadsforcancer
Can we get feed back[/b] |

How about if we do a ride in each state but not necessarily all the way to the next state. Something like........
WA Perth to Albany or Perth to Kalgoorlie or Perth to Geraldton
SA Adelaide to Port Augusta
NT Darwin to Uralla _________________ Cheers,

I still like the original idea, and I know I cant do it but I'll be doing my little bit here and there, so why not do what you can, raise a few bucks and get the ball going. _________________ 2005 KFX700

just spoke to my father who helps run a harley owners group (hog) in newcastle. He said he has a letter that they have written up for sponsors. That has info about the event and what kind of support we will need. We could use this as a template. we can give this to every state so that it is formal and everyone has the same info to hand out.
The hog can also help with support Vans trucks cars and trailers if needed.
I will need your email hoody to sent this letter through to you.
Hog groups are formed all over australia. Dad mentioned that once one group gets involved they tend to gather together and support a cause. So this could turn out to be a large factor in the help we need.
will be intouch with answers from bike shops
cheers

Husky Goat and I are keen to organise NT leg.
Hoody I think we can go around Australia Its a brilliant idea mate and i think it will be great for cancer foundation. My Father inlaw died 12 months ago from Cancer and we support your idea 100% up here. Also something like passing the baton from rider to rider as it goes round would be showing how we all help one another and will show that even though sometimes we are portrayed as maniacs when riding Quads We as
riders can unite and support a great cause.
Take the ride around Australia and unite all riders for cancer research

You need to edit your link (replace "hareo" with "hero"). _________________ The term "Foolproof" seriously underestimates the ingenuity of Fools.

Not for me. I am happy to participate here in WA but the prospect of flying interstate or even trying to get my quad over there, that's asking too much. _________________ Cheers,

Only a idea but for those people that live in the more remoterareas of our country where it is 200km to the next town....
After picking up the baton, maybe you can do the ride through your local town, doing the things with the local Rotary/Apex/Jaycees/MX Clubs, etc.
Then put your quad on your ute or trailer the way we do normally.
Then piggy-back your bike and baton to the next rider/town and pass the baton on and so on. Meet 1/2 way, whatever.
Most of us could wrangle a day or two off work for a good cause, but weeks at a time might be difficult.
The bigger stretches might be covered by the like of the national car carriers like Finemores and Patricks. That may be worth following if any one has some people they know.
Only a idea but give it some thought. And good on yer, Hoody. _________________ Remember. We elect politicians, but we have to deal with bureaucracy.
