 |
|
Can anyone shed some light on this new quad to the market, made in the US, each unit is custom made to order for the customer and they are claiming 72 horsepower out of the factory and that they are lighter than any other 450. Is anyone aware of these if these claims are correct i want one
Check the write up on them in the april dirt wheels _________________ 07 KFX700

The above quad could be soon coming with another manufacturers name on it. Read the below that i've cut and pasted from another site. Will be interesting to see a quad that you can buy off the showroom floor that already is done up with the best of everything, is lighter and faster than any other quad in production. hmmm interesting
It appears US Highland is not only busy prepping it’s factory quality 450 and 950 cc motorcycles and 450 quads for sale in the United States. They are also in talks with a “large global OEM” for US Highland to manufacture bikes to be re-branded by this OEM.
The agreement is “tentative” so nothing is final but we will try to bring you more information. Looks like Highland changed their website a lot recently so have a look.
Hit the break to read the press release.
US Highland (OTC.BB:UHLN – News) announced today that management has reached a tentative agreement with a large global OEM for the license of Highland motor technology and is in joint venture discussions for the manufacture of privately branded motorcycles. These agreements could extend US Highland global sales beyond 20,000 units per year and result in an exponential increase in US Highland’s revenue stream within the next two years.
US Highland, Inc. is a US-based designer and manufacturer of high performance, premium quality Motocross, Supermoto, Quad and Enduro motorcycles. Highland’s remarkably light, robust and powerful engine platform has drawn the attention of several significant global brands. “Highland is in a very strong position with complete engine and fuel injection technology. Our engine and fuel system designs are unique and patent application processes to protect our growing suite of Highland IP is proceeding well. This gives our potential partners confidence,” states Mats Malmberg, President of US Highland, Inc.

I do not think we will see them in oz. From what I have read they build it custom and who is going to buy a quad they have never ridden. They wont send twenty to Oz to be distributed around at various dealers. You have to order it and then it only gets manufactured, so you will have to put down a hefty deposit and hope they dont go belly up while your quad is still on the production line. I like the 500 version, I think it would be well suited for events like Finke, Gas Dash etc. _________________ Its not if you win or lose but how you enjoyed the ride! |

Three top executives were killed in a plane crash recently so that is probably why they might be looking at getting financed by someone else. It is just the type of deal Polaris would be sniffing around. _________________ Its not if you win or lose but how you enjoyed the ride! |

if polaris or any other oem manufaturer get their hands on the rights to these quads we may very well see a production model of these in oz. I reckon if they are all they are talked up to be they would sell like hot cakes. _________________ 07 KFX700

read into it and it is the old cannondale frame and a version of the engine by cannondale.
72hp would be crazy fast and hard to hold onto. _________________ 2012 sponsors, Working on it. |

Yeah looks like a cannondale frame but the engine is not the same from memory the cannondale engine was a reverse head like the new yzf450 _________________ Smitty |
