what mods do u have?, and how are u measuring speed?
and on what surface?

i was replying to a comment above that was saying that it wouldnt go past 130.
Any way my bike is using the standard digital speedo that came out on the raptor.
As for mods:
Forged and shot peened bottom end.
stroker is a custom stroke in the range of 850 - dnt quote me on this, ill get full specs from mechano.
Custom cams
GYTR rear muffler with custom pipe
60hp shot of laughing gas
and a few more bells and whisltes.
Cant let all the cats out of the bag

Alright assuming my trail tech is liying to me kfx 700 840 kit, muzzy exhaust, white bros cdi?, Dalton Pro tuner kit and billet clutch. What should my top speed be that reading was on the road?

If the front tyres grew then it would show a slower number. If the rear tyres grew it would effectively make it go faster top speed. Correct?

is this the bike u told me made 105 rwhp?

Boy you've certainly come a long way in a short amount of time. Last month you were asking how to remove the baffle from the stock exhaust on this bike and now it's a fire breathing monster.

please dont lurk.

were all here for the benifit of the quad community, to learn from each other and to have fun in the process.

now and then we may sound like a pack of pricks picking on you, but its only because theres so many 12 yr olds on here that quote all sorts of figures and parts they have in there bikes. and it simply isnt the case.

the last one i remember provided pics off his mad machine and it was then proven that he had just copied a few pics direct from the Honda website.

i still find it iffy that you would spend 15k on top of buying your bike and still not know what brand crank etc it has in it.
and 850cc sounds like a grenade without the 60 hp of nos.

So I get "all the experts" saying that this trailtech is inaccurate. what is the fasted you have done on your quad Dangerman (on the back wheels)and 700quad? I am not asking for a Guiness book of world record sactioned time but something to go by. I guess once I get the quad running again I will check it out with a gps and set the trailtech up again.

I actually can't believe how much of a stir a photo of a trailtech has caused in our ozatv community! Imagine if I did not post a photo!

if its a 840 it must be running the brute cylinders with bored casings or u would be doing gaskets every 3-4 rides just say it is with big comp and + 1.5 valves xx cams 38mm carbs or a single webber and a fully modded clutch so basically everythink done without going stroker and modding the frame and running brute heads aswell u would see the mid 80hp to the wheels wich is stout for a cvt and shaft drive and ide say around 150kph but get there fast as hell
if u look around the yanks have the bruteforce running with and beating the street bike powered quads in 300 feet of sand but in the same sentence there are alot of real bad azz 450s and rappys around to and a couple ive ridden ive been blown away by the power of a single cylinder if i wasnt 6'6 and 120kgs my azz would be on a rappy hands down

Dunno about experts, but a lot of these guys play quad-mods pretty hard and have a fair bit of experience.

My only point is on the trailtech, that the numbers you get off the screen will be directly related to the numbers you put into the unit.

I've been one of a bunch of guys who have struggled to 'tune' those input numbers for Safari, where particularly the 'distance' measuring gets very critical for navigational racing.
over 4000km, you get a pretty good feel for variations like tyre growth, because each days section maps show a realistic average speed which is usually between 70 and 110kmh.
Tyre size differences due to that range of speeds are the single biggest set up headache.
There are other varying factors too.

Maybe grab a GPS and do it that way.
much easier.
Just do a run down a straight road, then turn around and race back.
Split the average best of running each way, and you've removed the up or down hill controversy too.

Good luck testing, and hopefully you can come up with some impressive numbers laughing

Either way, everyone will be interested to know.

All the arguments aside the only true way to tell of the maximum speed and comparitve speed between the trailteck unit and even the oem speedo is either by radar and or gps unit ,as when the eyes drop the bs stops.

I have a oem speedo on my grizzly and it is out , as i run a gps on my quad all the time , and yuou would be surprised in the variation in even all the speed ranges, we can all sit and argue that this has had that mod and so forth , but hey at the end of the day only a gps and radar unit will give true reading , or even two post over a set measured distance and timed between these markers

Yes..yes you can have more than one, I am sorry I assumed it was the same one. I wasn't being derogatory, just a little surprised that somebody with your technical knowledge would need to ask for help removing the stock baffle. A stock trail ride as well as an 840 drag beast...sounds like you have the best of both worlds.

No problem here. This is megamans thread and I think we've hijacked it enough. I hope that you can find the time some day to post a few pics of your ride. We don't get many big bore Raptors here. No sarcasm intended. Safe riding.

Respect dangerman4...... Crazy video. BUT what was the top speed recorded on your trailtech at the time of the wheelie!!!!!

Eitherway I get what you guys are saying but who on this forum is running the same engine combo, clutch system etc etc. Eitherway I will verify it via GPS in the next two weeks. I am not a stranger to speed this is my daily ride
and has ran the best of a 8.9 @ 147mph at WSID.

Other than Toli and a few other of the drag bike guys on here I would back dangerman4's YFZ10R to smoke anything out there, if he can keep the front down. Laughing

in a sand drag to 100 m then yea theres a few faster then the 10.
but ask them all if there prepared to hold it flat across a paddock and then turn while at speed and they will all chicken out.

there may be other fast hybrids out there in aus but i dont know of any that are reliable.
